unrEVOked!

Man, I installed HTC sync and related drivers just the other day, now am kicking myself. I installed hboot drivers but can not get past "booting into recovery", which I assume is because I have the sync drivers installed. I uninstalled sync but cannot remember how I installed the HTC drivers, and now I need to uninstall them. Windows xp. Any help would be appreciated!

Whoops, just tried it again and now it works fine. Rooted! I guess that was pretty easy... would have liked a step-by-step guide, but not bad.

Hmm, man... if you had Windows 7, I could help you a bit more... cause you can just search "uninstall htc..." and it'll bring up everything.

Another way is to just go to add/uninstall programs, and check there. Make sure HTC Sync is uninstalled.
Also, go to devices and management... When your phone is plugged in, it'll have some drivers show up... if there are any HTC drivers, you can uninstall there.

Anyone having issues with 4G working? I went to an area where I typically get pretty good 4G coverage, and it never connected. I was at lunch, so I didn't have time to really play or experiment though...

Just got 4.5Mbps down/970Kbps up using Speedtest.net app. I read in another forum that you may need to update your PRL: Menu>Settings>System Updates>Update PRL. Not 100% sure, though.

Anyone else having issues downloading the program. I go to unrevoked.com and the page opens. I try to click on the EVO and nothing happens. I tried clicking on all the phones and still nothing. I tried to open the page on an XP and Windows 7 machine. I am, however, able to go to the download page on my phone. Can someone post a direct link so I can download the EXE and Drivers?

I just used Unrevoked 3 to root my EVO and everything is working. I have the wireless tethering and screenshot app installed so far.

I'm new to rooting, been trying to read as much as possible about it before asking any questions but I'm a little confused by some things. I got my EVO about a week ago so the latest OTA update was installed. I read around here that rooting gives the EVO better battery life which is the main reason why I wanna root. I also want to be able to delete the bloatware from my phone.

1. Would using unrevoked3 help me with the battery life by letting me delete the apps that Sprint loads on the EVO?

2. If I eventually wanted to upload custom ROMs, would I be able to do so using this method?

3. Is there a custom ROM that would give me Froyo?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You actually have to scroll down to get get to the actual links, but there is no scroll bar. What I did was to just click and drag and it brought me to the download links.

Is the new unrevoked3 a persistent root, in line with simpleroot/Toast? I had to restart my phone and it still appears to be rooted, so it is not like the original unrevoked. Does anyone know if you can use this method to delete bloatware?

Having Problems downloading

I tried downloading the Mac OS version (since i have a Mac that I am tryin to tether) using my phone and I get a "Reflash" file downloaded. When I try and open this .dmg file the phone says "No application can be found to open this file".

What am I doing wrong? Last time an unrevoked-2.apk file was downloaded and then opened fine. Can anyone help me out with this?

Alright guys I need some help. I've kind of lost track of where we stand with root and the latest update. I didn't run the latest update so I'm still at 1.32.651.6 and I have done the standard unrevoke to allow me to use the WIFI tether. My question is what do I do now? Do I run the update and then run unrevoke3? Or do I just need to run unrevoke2 and then unvrevoke3? My goal here is to update to the latest software version and get to a full root to be able to flash ROMS.
Thanks for your help.

Where did you find the old method for Unrevoked at? I just install the older RUU on my Evo, and would like to do the method again.

Never mind, I found it...

The reflash file is downloaded to your MAC, NOT your phone. You also may need to download some drivers, I had to on my pc but I don't know about Mac. You will run the reflash.exe file on your Mac while your phone is hooked up to it. Check out this post for a basic runthrough: SprintUsers.com - View Single Post - unrevoked is back! 7/14/2010!!!!!!!!

Not working....

I have it loaded on my windows computer.. but it doesnt see the phone when I have it hooked up. I have enabled usb debugging.
