unrEVOked!

Anyone else notice that certain apps such as sling player are missing from the app store after applying the Unrevoked OTA v2 patch? I did not apply Unrevoked OTA v1 due to the WIMAX issues. I checked my wife's stock non-rooted EVO and I can pull up the sling player app with no issue. Anybody have any ideas on how to fix this?

I've done a little more research on the market missing apps after using Unrevoked's OTA v2 patch. From everything that I have read on various forums it sounds like this is an issue with the build.prop file. Hopefully the Unrevoked guys will sort this out.

I really wish they would communicate a little better and be more reachable through a forum either here or over at XDA. The twitter page leaves a lot to be desired especially when they tweet that they have an update or more information coming later that day and then they leave you hanging.

Your being called on the carpet for your remarks. Did you donate? If so how much?

Did you donate to the unrEvoked team? If so how much? The way I see it they leave their work open for everyone to use and put a donation link on the download page. I am willing to bet (And I am guessing) that 80% or more of the people using their work don't even donate including you. If you did donate tell me your name used on the donation site so we can look it up. That being said they are PRACTICALLY giving away all of their hard work and someone like you comes along and bitches about them not giving you full access to their every move. If you are not here to say thank you to the unrEVOked team or let them know about a bug in their software, I suggest you shut the F up unless you have something constructive to add to the situation.

Well, if you actually read my posts you would see that I am trying to let them know about a bug in their software. I do appreciate the hard work that the Unrevoked team has done. Last time I checked it was a FREE country and I have the right to post a little constructive criticism should I choose to. If you don't like it I suggest you stop visiting forums like these. If you followed any of the Unrevoked threads you would see other people trying to report bugs with the software as well. All I am really trying to do here is report a bug and be helpful so that they can address it. A little more communication or a simple area on the unrevoked website where users could submit bugs would be helpful. That may just be my opinion but I am certainly entitled to it.

I hope they are, I would like the update and my free wireless tether! There page on Twitter looks promising.

Who has the new root exploit for adobe flash on the latest OTA then? It's not Unrevoked?

Xorbe:

Use the Simple Root for 1.47 followed by the 1.47 stock rooted ROM option.

Simple root moves you back to the "Out of the Box" ROM (I think) that is rooted. Once you have root, you can get a rooted 1.47 installed pretty handily.

At least that's how I just did my phone.

Yes I saw that. I hope it's the one-tap Evo root. I just need to backup my apps so I can actually do a full root.

I have tried it, simple couple clicks on the mac. Seems like phone seems a little sluggish. It might just be me

Thanks for being the first to admit it.. too early to speculate on battery life?

How about wifi tether? The rooted one.. working?

Blah, does this wipe data and clear everything? I just wanted superuser permissions to backup everything, then do a full root.

I tried the PC version of Unrevoked 3 and wifi tether works fine. It was just a few clicks, and it was done. The only time I see sluggishness (don't even know if that is a word) is when the phone accesses the sd card. After using it for a bit, it was better.
