I had a hero and have done the whole root thing before but when I installed evoked, it did root but Wi-Fi Tethering will not connect. Any ideas?
 
Youtub unrevoked with tethering 5 min tutorial...... You will find it. I did it all from my phone no p.c. At all!

If anybody can give me some pointers on roms and if I can do ota updates with unrevoked installed pls. P.m. me with any help. Thx.
 
Thank you for this. It was very easy and got the tethering working very quickly. One question though, do I need to remove anything prior to an OTA update? On my last phone we needed to remove the patches/themes prior to an update.
 
This was very simple to use. Will be making a donation on the 15th. Got WiFi tethering up and going and Titanium Backup as well. Just wish there was a sticky on how to go back to stock should the need arise.

doesn't restarting the phone put it back to the non-rooted way?
 
keep in mind, this isn't a full root, you cant flash custom Roms. Still a great tool to use to titanium back up everything before you go into real root.
 
new unrevoked worked like a charm


stock evo + unrevoked root + unrevoked recovery + custom rom of your choice .... hell yeah doesn't get any easier

Trying it out right now... Just gotta plug it in and poof right?


Took a few tries but its rebooting now... Pretty simple... Dont forget to download the Hboot Driver... opps...

Im following his directions i suggest others do the same...

Can anyone else confirm that using the unrevoked root with the unrevoked recovery allow you to flash roms?

I can... Its all done i just dont have any Roms I want to Flash...

but Recovery allows it works perfect

Thank you sir! I've found no reason for me at least to flash a Rom...now if there ends up being a leaked Froyo, fully working Rom...yes have some!
