Update finally pushing?

it is suggested that you remove any lagfix before updating early attempts ended up soft bricked

i can verify this... my vibrant is bricked... any solutions... stuck at vibrant boot logo

got mine early this morning, seems to working just fine, not froyo tho. it says "2.1 update 1." I'm guessing it'll be forever before we get froyo...........if we do

I got my update this morning, everything seemed to go fine except for one strange thing, the box in the settings I used to select to choose 2G instead of 3G to save battery is now gone, what gives? I do I switch back and forth now? Very confused. Other than that everything seems fine.

I figured it out in Mobile Network Settings you select network mode and choose between GSM(2G) and WCDMA(3G). I must say thought that they should make it a little easier to figure out for the layman.

This might be a dumb question, but this is my first Android. How is the update going to work? Is my phone going to automatically download the update or do I have to restart my phone.

It'll just appear in your toolbar, it'll sound like your getting a text message.

Word from the same T-Mo employee who gave me the printout (who is also a proud [rooted] Vibrant owner) said the only thing they've heard is by the end of the year. I guess that isn't entirely bad news, right?

Got mine yesterday at 11:30 am pst. I saw an icon in my notification bar that I did not recognize. I tried clicking on it for more info and it wouldn't do anything. I waited a few mins. and then updates are ready to install. That it could take up to 10 mins. It'll ask you to proceed or install later.

Has anyone tried out the GPS after the update? How did it work?

Got it in Oklahoma City, but it didn't update. Told me it was available, I chose to update, within a few seconds it rebooted and the notification was gone. I checked my software and its still the stock firmware. Says no firmware when I check for updates. I flashed back to stock using Odin and the stock firmware from Xda. Would that have any effect on it?

My phone says "Software Version 2.1 Update 1
Application Version 4.2 RC2" Judging by the posts this is the new update version number

I didn't get any notification of a software update though. Don't notice anything different.
