[UPDATED 12/30/2012][Sprint Only]UnRoot and Return to stock

I went back to L7 stock Rom today and I got my update. it skipped ma6 and went straight to mb1.

Don't forget to clear ur count. I made that mistake and has to root and do the whole process over. But I did get o.t.a.

This is true. but I'm in my infant stage with hacking.

If you are really just learning it is way easier to flash the ROM. The less you have to use Odin the better off you are. I have used Odin way more than I need to or probably should but i'm an old pro. I would like to offer this advise. Unless you absolutely need to use Odin, don't.

My turn to join this thread. Picked up my Sprint GS3 during Black Friday and when trying to root it, something happened in the middle of the process and i bricked it. I've rooted other devices in the past (Nexus 7, Samsung Epic), so i basically know the drill. But not sure what happened here. Anyway, after 6 hours of tinkering, i was able to get it back up and running, but not rooted. So recently i've been getting OTA update requests and when i try, i get the following message:

E:Error in /cache/eec955eb4a5b.update_SPH-L710_LI3_to_LJ7.zip
(status 7)
Installation aborted.

What does this mean to me?

Thank you for atleast taking the time to read this.

whats the file to get the stock rom?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean. If you are rooted and want to return to stock it's in the 1st post in this thread. If your looking for the stock rooted MB1 ROM you are in the wrong thread. Try looking in the "Your Way to Update to MB1" thread.

It means that the update file in your cache is corrupted. Perhaps a bad download.

Can you help me out with some of this things if needed? I have rooted my sg3 and had some roms that looked cool but lots of crashes with the apps and decided to go back to stock and find another rom that don't have many issues. Here's my contact info; Jb Acosta on chat on!

I don't use chat on. Just curious why you don't just try another ROM. You don't need to use this guide to unroot. Just flash another ROM in recovery. If you still have questions pm me and I will give you my gtalk info.

You saved my butt, flashed an after marker ROM that killed my phone, this was able to get me back to where i needed to be thanks.

I just wiped it since it was on the samsung logo for about 20 minutes. I'm going to let it sit for a bit, but I'm still on the samsung logo...

EDIT: Right after I posted this it booted up. Thanks man!

I just got a S3 from craigslist and I tried to take it into the store today and they told me it has been flashed to Boost Mobile Because it was showing as "Sanyo Boost" So I just followed this guide and I am on 4.1.1 But when I call sprint to have it activated... It says client authentication failed... Same thing it was doing before I followed this guide.

Anyone can help?

I don't mess with phones flashed to different carriers so I really have no experience at all with it. I am guessing it has something to do with your msl and IMEI.

I'm having the same problem. Did you ever get it fixed? If so, how? That darn message keeps popping up.

Which same problem? Which message? Don't expect us to go back and search to try to figure out what you're talking about. Please be specific, or quote the post you're responding to.

Greetings and thank you for your hard work. I'm relatively new to the flashing game. "Noob". But I've successfully rooted, installed CWM and flashed to Synergy r420. Problem is my email crashes and the SMS/MMS stock app doesn't work. So looking to flash back to stock. My question is..from CWM can I just flash the stock rom intead of wiping my root and other work? Oh, if so where can I find the stock file?

Yes you can flash the stock rom. Or if you made a nandroid you can restore it. If you havent made one yet you should as soon as you get things working right.
