upside down question mark appearing where a return/enter would be in some texts

So more of a issue from iPhone side?
No, not a problem, just a difference in operating systems. Do that to a Windows box and the text is all on one line.

The <newline> character in each system is different. Apple uses carriage-return, *nix uses line-feed, Windows uses 2 characters together, carriage-return followed by line-feed. There are programs that convert between them. Both Edit Pad and Edit Plus let you change the newline in the current text, but display new lines for any of them.

What if the typist uses the space bar to advance to the next line, would there be any odd characters?

I'm going test this out myself as I test lot of family and friends from my android to their iphone but they are not long text .

I have no idea how to remove the photo!!!??? Help! I can edit the text but I can't find a way to remove photo... I only have my phone...

That's really awesome!
Good on whoever the Mod is!
We don't comment when we do things like that, we just do them. (As far as using spaces for newlines in texts, the SMS protocol doesn't allow for "lines". It's for short messages, like "OK, I'll meet you". If you want messages with lines use a different protocol [like email].)

I had same issue amd I think I just got it figured out.
Go to settings > Apps > Messages > Set as default > Clear defaults

Hello, I wanted to post an update because I believe I figured out how to fix the glitch with the upside down question marks appearing on the recipient's end. It appears that some phones are not able to interpret more than one consecutive "space", and this is why the odd characters appear. When you send your outgoing messages, just make sure that you never have more than one space in between characters. For example, in the screenshot in this thread that is a grocery list, I bet there was more than one space in between each item on the list, and if it was resent with only one space between each item the question marks would disappear. Tdjohnson7700- I hope this helps you. I completely understand your frustration as a business owner because this issue was interfering with my ability to send my website link! Please let me know if it helps!
