Urbane 2nd Edition LTE watch CANCELLED!

I got my urbane the other day and it's a nice watch. I also have the k8 3G round smart watch. The urbane is a better made watch but not by a ton. Both screens are the same size but the urbane as a little more pixel density, but it's not super noticeable. Urbane is a little smaller but thicker. Both look great. I use the urbane with a iPhone and it's very limited on what it can do. With sim installed I can make calls and text from watch no prob. On the other had the k8 can do anything. Call text with a keyboard, add contact right to watch, use wifi, download apps on Google play right from watch. I like the urbane but the k8 can do so much more. The call quality is not bad on both but it's a little better on the urbane. I'm leaning towards just keeping both of them right now but I may sell the urbane and make some money on it. I only paid 240 bucks for it on eBay that day before it was canceled.

What's the battery life like on the K8 3G?

With my SIM card in I got 1 hour 30 min on screen time and 20 hours standby.

With the K8, how would you install Play Store apps because from what I've read, the Android Wear app will not see the K8 Smart Watch 3G? Is there a separate app for the K8 that we would need to install to do this? It would seem almost useless if we couldn't install new watch faces and wear apps. I'm considering picking one up as well but need to know these things. I don't see too many videos on YouTube for reviews on it.

From the App Store you install full android apps not android wear apps. I put the android wear app onto the watch so I could add apps to my urbane. The app did run but I could not get past one screen. Most apps work fine but because your using a circle display somtimes things get cut off on the corners. The watch has a section to add more faces built into the watch but they just started rolling those out last week there's only a couple right now.

I hope they expand on the faces. Otherwise, it would feel like an Apple Watch with pre-installed faces without much choices. How's the fitness tracking? Can it be synced with Google Fit?

It comes pre installed with around 20 faces. It does have a fitness app with a heart rate sencor but I do powerlifting so I never use my watch for that kind of thing. I sold the watch to one of my buddy's yesterday. I already have a Apple Watch and the urbane so three smartwatches was to much. Considering I cant wear a watch for work having three watches never been used seemed kind of pointless. If my urbane packs it in and Apple does not release a Apple Watch with LTE I'd pick up another k8 in a second.

Adamadam, I am still thinking about getting one to wear in addition to my Urbane. Are you still happy with your k8? Now that you've had both for a while, how well does the GPS work when tracking runson the k8?

As I said in my last post I ended up selling it to my friend. I did not sell it because I did not like it, it was just because I already have a Apple Watch and a urbane. I only wear a watch on weekends so having three that never get used seemed like a waist. I did not have any problems with the k8 though and would buy another one in a second in my urbane dies. It's better then the urbane in a lot of ways. I only tried gps to see if it worked and it found me just as well as my iPhone did.

I noticed on the K8, the messaging app had its own keyboard which is really helpful if I don't want dictation to compose or reply because most of my texts are shorthand or abbreviate which I can't do when dictating.

I received a $100 adjustment on my account and I never returned my watch. Actually, I returned my first watch but returned it because of the display but they sent me a replacement. I wonder if their system thought I had returned due to the recall. Oh well! Their loss.

Stupid me, I have a grandfathered iPad plan with ATT and when I went to buy the watch and he asked me for the plan number, I was like what does it matter? I will use it without the sim, and he said in case there are any issues, to which I answered I can't imagine there would be any!!!

Got my credit on the bill today as well. Lessens the sting of the disappointment. Dont know if there is a return window on the watch, but I was trying to wait until something remotely attractive came out(hate the look of the Gear S2, coupled with the fact its not officially an AW device, the classic is a beauty though) before I returned mine. Been trying to get a spare charger for a month now, and all the LG reps have officially confirmed that they wont be providing or selling any accessories for this device because they want them returned. At first they were telling me that the watch would be supported indefinitely, now they flat out tell me to take it back. No issues so far, but I know this charger wont last because of its design. Too bad. I know LG will have to make a pretty kick-*** product for me to ever do business with them again.

Yup got my $100 credit as well. Very surprised as I would have thought you would need to turn in the device to get credited. So happy with the Urbane 2 and now with the $100 credit , it makes my decision to keep it and roll the dice so much more easier.

What do you mean by new Android? If you mean Android Wear, it is already on 1.4 which other watches are still trying to update to. There is no updates unless LG releases a new ROM which is highly unlikely.
