US release date could be July 12th!

The last device that i was this excited to be released was my xbox 360 way back in 2005, waited in the cold outside a target for 8 hours for that one!

It makes me so happy that all i have to do is check a website for this! Although i feel ashamed that my play account and bank account are the first things i check in the morning lol

i was at gamestop the rep there said the release date is on july 31st.. she said she got a email stating not to sell them until july 31st.... i cant wait that long..i may just preorder thru google but i do like that you can trade stuff in for credit towards the tablet at gamestop...

That's not exactly correct, but it's the best we can go by. Gamestop is used to dealing with street dates and pre-orders. They give you a "worst case scenario" then call you when it arrives early. They told people the 31st for 1st wave and 7th for second wave. That was just to cover their booty however as many stores have enough to cover both waves or at least part of the second wave.

Anyway, my point is she was giving you the old "promise by" date because no new info has been announced. The official Gamestop email from corporate says "unknown future date" and "until further notice."

This is from a rep on the Google Play Team sent to me at 5:30AM today. My CC still hasn't been charged though and I haven't received any shipping/tracking info. Take it for what it is. Believe me or not, doesn't make me lose sleep either way.

And Google's website still says 1 to 2 weeks. Nothing is adding up. Its all speculation. Google hasn't said a word nor an email has been sent notifying of shipment or funds being taken for the nexus 7. Again he said she said. Doesn't matter what a rep says.

Over on XDA they're saying Ebuyer over in the UK is already shipping them next day, so those who order from them (even right now) will have them tomorrow in the UK. That nonsense pisses me off. A third party retailer in another country can get them out before Google can in its home country? Give me a break. That's not cool by any stretch of the imagination.

This is nonsense. Google doesn't just arbitrarily makes decisions to anger you. There are reasons for things, try to keep that in mind. And I'm sure it's been said in here many times before, but there never has been a Google announced release date that they've missed. Yet.

I don't know why everyone is so upset and going on about these waves. If you go to Google play and look it says 1 to 2 weeks is when is ships. Even if you order it today worse case it will ship the 26th. Also Google is sending them 2 day through UPS. That puts your delivery on the 28th(which is a Saturday) so it should arrive the 30th. There is nothing that is pointing to anytime in August. Everyone is just going on he said she said crap. Google is the most trusted source here. Not the CS Rep everyone is supposedly talking too.

Personally, I'm not so worried about how long it will take, I can be patient, I would just like to KNOW how long I'll be waiting.

YotaDude10 we are going by several announcements about waves. How about a Gamestop receipt that says 2nd Wave: Aug 7th? Don't get me wrong I hope everyone gets their Nexus 7 tablets ASAP. I know I am super excited about it and I hope Dead Trigger continues to be $0.99 until I can buy it for my Nexus 7.

If you are referring to my post the "waves" are what Gamestop is refering to. Their timing and Googles are different. Gamestop was expecting to get them later than those who ordered directly and that's why they gave extended dates. They were in most cases wrong. If you pre-ordered at Gamestop your receipt with have a wave number and a promise date. Most people got August 7th because the promised inventory numbers were a bit low and they expected they'd have to wait until later to re-order.

I ordered two, one from Google and one from Gamestop. Google didn't give a date, Gamestop says 7th on the receipt. We'll see which I get first.

Exactly! I'm sure Google has their reasons for not announcing a specific date (beyond just building hype, which it obviously has) but It'd be so much easier to be patient if we had a definitive release date.

What I'm stating is what is said on Google Play. I'm not sure what Gamestop and staples are saying. I ordered mine off Google. So I'm going off what Google is saying. Guess I should have stated that I was aiming my comment towards the people who ordered off Google.

How can you claim that? Google said 2-3 weeks at the time of the original order. Aren't they still within that window? While they may not have issued an exact date, which is what you and the rest of the people on this forum want, the bottom line is the tablet is still in-line to ship when Google originally said - 2-3 weeks.

I think you guys really need to relax a bit and clam down. It's not worth worrying about or loosing sleep over!

Honestly I hope this thing ships soon. Because if it don't im going to have to send my phone into Verizon for repairs due to the amount of times I'm unlocking it checking for that email from Google. Lol.

There had been a hold for the purchase amount on my credit card since the day that I purchased it. The hold was released this morning so I'm hoping that means they're about to charge the card and ship the device.

How so? We (well.. the community) are mucking everything up here and causing confusion, not Google.. Google announced the device would release within 2-3 weeks. They announced that 2 weeks ago.They're still firmly within their advertised release window.

People get so wrapped up in emails with customer service reps (who don't know any more than we do, as has been proven MULTIPLE times) and "my brother said his friends daughters cousin works for gamestop and they got an email" rumors and spin it into a mess. It's not Google's responsibility to clean that mess up.

Apparently someone over at the XDA thread was told by a google help person that google is shipping them today and we should be receiving an email today.....hope this is true. Then again this is the internet
