US release date could be July 12th!

I have read a few posts on here that mentioned UPS has them in the hubs waiting for shipment. If this is true, what if someone just calls the hub that their tab will be shipping from and tells them that they have a package of yours and when will they be delivering it? I highly doubt that the UPS workers were told anything about the "secret" ship date of the nexus.

That's an interesting thought.

I have no idea about shipping so. I wonder if they are all being held in the same shipping hub or if they are already shipped and spread out to cities across the states.

If its the latter, we could see these things hitting doors tomorrow!!

Apparently this came from Game Stop PR:

"Right now, we are waiting for ASUS and Google to coordinate and provide us with an official sell date. In partnership with them, we have instructed our stores to hold the merchandise and not sell until the vendor-approved date, much like we do with street-dated video games."

At least that's what The Verge is reporting.
Nexus 7: when and where can you get one? | The Verge

To further stir the pot, there's a Google+ post from the Nexus page, and the very last part of the last sentence of the last paragraph (you may or may not have to expand the post to see it) states, "Up next for Jelly Bean: all Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S, Motorola Xoom and of course, Nexus 7, which will ship with Jelly Bean later this month (bolding and italics by me, if you didn't guess)."

Hopefully "later this month" does not in fact mean the latter half of the month like I feel it does when I hear that phrasing.

That's odd, and you are bringing negativity into my Nexus 7 hype!! lol

Oh wow I didn't know that awesome

If you scroll a little over halfway down this review's page, there's a picture of what the reviewer says is everything that was in the box.

Are we certain that we get headphones? I thought the Google I/O ones were white, and yet this one has the black cover.

Maybe I'm just confused because I don't know how else she could have the tablet anyway.

Hmmm.. Maybe this had something to do with the "delays"?

"And when you get your Google Nexus 7 early, you will be able to enjoy the latest build of Jell Bean which is now Android 4.1.1. An OTA update is happening now. According to those who own the tablet (thanks to Google I/O, no doubt), the latest Jelly Bean build is being installed on the Google Nexus 7. Besides fixing bugs, the update is expected to simply add Google Wallet to the tablet."

UPS does logistics as well. Which really means they can act as a warehouse for companies and retailers. Google says everything ships 2nd Day Air. All UPS Air packages go through their hub in Louisville, KY (unless they are being shipped from a location close). It would not surprise me if all of these packages are there and ready to be shipped. UPS would handle all of the tracking information and shipping labels.

Yeah its in the google help section "Whats in the box"

That was probably not a retail version.

I know. I'm terrible... Hopefully the way I'm taking it doesn't turn out to be correct... I really want this blasted tablet ASAP. Especially since it's apparently being shipped to stores and already at shipper locations and just sitting around, yet isn't officially shipping to us yet.

If retailers are getting their shipments already, then Google should allow the stores to start selling them on July 12th. I want my tablet from Gamestop already.

Maybe i'll call Kentucky and ask them where's my package? They might just think they forgot to deliver it and give me some status on it?

Reading this thread has me syked!!

Yeah, I've been saying that about my Verizon Galaxy SIII as well...but Verizon won't let Best Buy sell them until Verizon says so. So it doesn't surprise me that Google wants to make stores hold their inventory until they say differently.

I don't like it because I agree with you...but I get it, unfortunately.

Google Help section?

I just looked at the Google Play Store's Devices section for the Nexus 7, and it doesn't show anything related to headphones in the "What's In The Box" section there...

Sorry that was kind of vague lol. Google help section can mean anything. I meant Nexus 7 help section.

What's in the box - Nexus Help

What's in the box
You should find the following items within the box:

The Nexus 7 tablet itself
USB sync/charge cable
Dual-voltage USB wall charger
Headphones
Quick start guide

Oooh, I see, the support page. I should've figured that out.

Well how interesting! And how odd that they wouldn't include headphones on the main Google Play Store page for the tablet, too.

So, if all of this is the case, someone would HAVE to know what is in the box. However, it's not exactly like you can just call that hub and ask about your Nexus 7. If there's no shipping info on it yet, they're not going to know much about YOUR package.

EDIT: Not sure how this got posted again. I just wanted to update my original post with the last bit... Oh well...

Oh ok. My theory was just dependent on other posts that stated the shipping labels were already on the boxes and just waiting to ship.
