US release date could be July 12th!

I ordered the 27th at 7pm. 16gb w/case and I still havent seen any updates. Im so frustrated because others that are around the same area are saying they have received updates and they ordered after me. BIG BIG FAIL GOOGLE!!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

It's definitely a cluster, there's no doubting that. I ordered during the keynote and based on the stream of updates, it seems as if the date of order does not matter but rather the specifics of the order.

So far, this seems to be the method to the madness:

1st: 8GB orders alone
2nd: 16GB orders alone
3rd: 8GB order with case

So... perhaps, 16GB with case will be next?

I too preordered but decided to check out my local sams club. They had a bunch in stock so I picked up one and only paid 246.84 + tax. No shipping cost. I saved enough compared to the google play order that I could actually buy the extended warranty. I'm going to refuse shipping and send the preorder back to Google play. I am not going to do a preorder through them again.

I may consider keeping the Nexus 7 if they decide to refund the shipping cost. I orginally ordered the nexus 7 as my wife's bday gift. I would love to have one for myself.
 
Still haven't heard anything on my 16GB yet. Order the night of July 7th without a case. Wonder if anyone else in North Carolina has heard anything?
 
This would make a good lesson in the power of social media and how important it is to manage it. It seems that Google has done (is doing) everything that it committed to and I can see a future project review where they pat themselves on the back for a job well done. They said that pre-orders would ship in 3-4 weeks and they did. What they seem to be missing is that their consumers are creating expectations independent of Google and are judging Google based on these independently created expectations. It is easy to blame the consumer for judging Google on something that it has not committed to and in the 20th Century that would have been the norm. This is the 21st Century where the vendor must engage in, and help shape customer expectations through social media. For instance, if Google had someone official on this forum that provided some real facts and guidance I think it would have kept the disappointment down somewhat. They probably would not have changed the facts like GS getting theirs before Play.Google customers but they could have explained from the beginning that there was not guarantee that a Play.Google customer had first right of ownership only that they would get theirs in the allotted time. People have offered to give Google a Pass because they are not a manufacturing company and I would agree with that. However, they are an online social media company and as such should be fully aware of and prepared to manage customer expectations via social media outlets.

I ordered a 16gig with case on the 27th and still have not received shipping notification or been charged to my cc. So at this point, the best I can hope for is shipping on Monday with delivery on Wednesday (way to sneak in under the 3 week delivery line Google) assuming they even ship mine on Monday. I think I'll run down to staples now and pick one up, they started selling today.
 
Sooooooo, I just got off the phone with google and figured I would pass this along. I ordered the evening of the 27th at 7pm. I ordered the case and the 16gb version. This was supposed to be shipped in the first wave of orders due to having ordered it before the1st.
The rep stated there a batch of customers that this did not happen for. He offered to waive the shipping cost. Of course he couldnt approve it but had to send it to a "specialist". So we will see. If they dont Im really going to be disappointed. This whole experience will truly affect my willingness in future purchases from google.

He also said they have been overwhelmed with cancellations which contributed to the problem.

I have a buyer for my shipped one from craigslist. I have tracking # but ups can't find any info on it. You all will like it! Watched a movie and picture was beautiful! Super fast, too!

Same message I'm getting. It's a normal message from UPS during the initial stages of shipping. Weekend madness as usual, don't expect much more info until Sunday night, at the earliest.

Google was able to send the tracking number because they created the shipping label. However, this does not mean UPS has received, processed, or shipped the package.

Well, after pre-ordering from the Play Store and also ordering one from GameStop hoping it would ship out yesterday (which it didn't), I called every GameStop in the greater Oklahoma area to see if they had any. None had any extras. Some where even shocked to hear the other GameStops were selling them! I finally called our local Sams Club. They had several in stock. My girlfriend is out shopping now and is going by to grab one. I'll cancel the GameStop order as it hasn't even been processed and I have a friend who is going to by my Google pre-order from me.

I did think to myself that it's a little depressing that I'm going through all of this trouble just to get a electronic device NOW, but then again, I've never done something like this. So, I guess I get to be one of those people this time around. :)

Anyway, if you guys are like me, check Sams Club. It seems like they have pretty good stock. And I think most people wouldn't go there looking for a device like this.

And she just called and said she bought it. They had them right out on the floor.

I was told that my order was cancelled after the CSR talked to the "specialist". A few hours later I received an email saying that it couldn't be cancelled. So definitely don't hold your breathe waiting on a refund based on a CSR's word.

Meanwhile, Gamestop sold me a 16gig.;)
