Verizon: $20 Unlimited Line Price Hike Incoming For Those Who Missed November (May 15th)

Re: Verizon: Another $20 Unlimited Line Price Hike Incoming (May 15th)

All the other carriers have unlimited data but with some restrictions (cannot be used on tablets, modems, jetpacks, routers, or some other devices) also, att doesn't even support hotspot from a smartphone while Verizon offers an unlimited hotspot addon. TMobile doesn't offer unlimited hotspot addon.

Yep for this reason alone, as a mobile worker + telecommuter Verizon is my best option.

Still though... $49 / mo is a great deal for unlimited data.

ATT unlimited is only for customers that have Dish network too if I remember correctly. I thought Sprint and Tmo throttle you after a certain amount.

Nope. They are unlimited if you snag the actual unlimited plan (as in not grab the 10 GB one which is technically "unlimited" but slown down after 10 GB). I have tested it to the point of 1 TB and didn't get throttled down.

What is the $15 save voice plan? I am interested in that only if its available. Any texts that you subscribe?

If you have unlimited data, then you can ask for it. Plan code 89736. 30 minutes,no texts included but can be added. Ymmv but I read of someone getting it a few months ago on another forum.

There is also a $11.99 voice plan but that requires a business line

There is a legacy att unlimited data plan that doesn't require dish /uverse.

Tmobile has network optimization in which your speeds can be slowed as you would be de prioritized if you are on a high load tower like I would most likely be considering that I work in a high rise amongst multiple high rises. However if you are in an area that isn't ever in a high load situation then you would never be network optimized.

Very true but he said throttle after an amount (like cricket or one of T-Mobile's limited plans). Throttling 100% of the time due to a cap is way different than slowing you down some during times of high congestion if you use a lot. In one scenario the speed returns at some point.. The other is there till your cycle ends.

Do you know if Nationwide 700 is the minimum for the shared minute plans?

Yep....I have the same nationwide plan as well but I have unlim talk and and unlim text with my Alltel plan and couple that with unlim data, I'm getting the best of both worlds...I also have the unlim hotspot on my phone plan as well, so I have no reason to switch my plan unless for some reason Verizon stops supporting it. When I leave this earth, this phone plan will be with me in my casket lol

Right, I was just explaining it because some don't understand about network prioritization

There is a 550 minute loyalty plan and a 400 minute senior plan. Both will save you $10 over the 700 minute plan.

I used to be on the 550 minute plan but my minutes usage went up a bit where the 550 minutes wasn't sufficient so I moved to the 700 minute plan

Alltel plan is probably cheaper but the unlimited talk on the nationwide plan is ridiculously expensive especially for my 5 line family plan.

There is also a m2am plan but you need to have a phone within certain zip code to get it

Re: Verizon: Another $20 Unlimited Line Price Hike Incoming (May 15th)

Well, this sucks. I got my line on contract back in November to avoid this till November this year, so this is still going to hit me, or perhaps I can dodge it till November which is what I figured?

"“Phase 2” will kick off on May 15 as a similar $20 increase to what we saw in November for lines that are out of contract"

Right now you are on contract so no price increase.

You can't do it yourself as these aren't advertised plans. Either online chat or phone call.
