Verizon: $20 Unlimited Line Price Hike Incoming For Those Who Missed November (May 15th)

Re: Verizon: Another $20 Unlimited Line Price Hike Incoming (May 15th)

There is a legacy att unlimited data plan that doesn't require dish /uverse.
Legacy. There isn't an unlimited without dish right now.

Lord.....I hope not!!!!!!! They really want to nickle and dime is who have the unlim plan
Just trying to force out unlimited customers. I saved money when I went from unlimited to the shared plans. I went to a 20GB plan but they had a promo to double data so I have the 40GB for 20GB pricing. But between all the phones, we barely hit 15GB.

Thank you!

Any plan codes I should mention?
I believe that it is 90022 for the 550 minute loyalty family plan

Considering we are talking about legacy Verizon unlimited, comparing to att legacy unlimited seems fair

Good point.

But what I was trying to get at is you either pay to keep what you have or save money and lose unlimited.

Re: Verizon: Another $20 Unlimited Line Price Hike Incoming (May 15th)

I dont think you save any money when you lose unlimited. I am on the 450 min plan with unlimited text and data for $83 a month. I wouldn't trade that for any other plan within verizon.

Re: Verizon: Another $20 Unlimited Line Price Hike Incoming (May 15th)

Att unlimited data also has a lot more restrictions that don't work for me as I have multiple data only lines with unlimited data and a smartphone with unlimited data and unlimited hotspot, which att doesn't allow. Also att service is pretty bad at my desk at work and at home whereas Verizon is excellent.

And Verizon had a single $20 increase from 2008 to present. The "uncarrier" went up $25 from 2013 to present.
"uncarrier" has also a $150.00 4 line unlimited t&t& data+international (140+ countries ) unlimited data+free international wifi calling back to the U.S+14GB Hotspot per line{56 GB total} +up to a 10MB file Advance text messaging plan =)

And if that plan worked for the people who currently have Verizon unlimited then they would have switched. TMobile gets poor service at my house and at my work, and also I use a lot more than 14gb hotspot on my line (I have the Verizon unlimited hotspot addon).

Speaking of international use, 140 countries sounds great... If it includes the counties that you are going to. Personally I go to Vietnam frequently and tmobile doesn't even offer a data plan.

Verizon offers 100 mb/100 minutes /100 texts for $40 in Vietnam. Which is pricey, but compared to tmobile is still a steal. Based on Tmobile's lowest posted rate on their website, for $40, you can't even get 7 minutes, which would cost you over $40 alone, $41.93 to be exact. . Even if it had data service, it might be through Tmobile's "world class" rates, which exceeds $15,000 per GB(no, that isn't a typo).

Also on Verizon, you can use wifi calling from Vietnam back to the USA for free. On tmobile, using the 7 minute call example, would cost you again... $41.93 for that wifi call from Vietnam.

Actually you can use WiFi calling from T-Mobile to call from Vietnam to the U.S. for free. They allow wifi calls back to the US for free no matter what over this feature.

I would have prob considered doing the 20gb plan and getting in on the promotion , but I dragged my feet....and well waited too late :-(

Ah you're right. I misread it.

so today verizon offered me a "temporary loyalty contract" basically I can keep my unlimited alltel plan and not get the price hike but can cancel at anytime I decide. Anybody ever hear of something like this before?

How long is temporary?

That doesn't sound right since .. What would you be in contract for? Usually a contract is ... You do (X) so we let you get this (Y) for a pre-determined amount of time. Giving you an out to the price hike, with you being able to leave whenever, for nothing gained? I don't get it.

yeah it seems very odd, they gave me until Saturday to decide. I wanted to see if this had ever been heard of. I appreciate the feedback.

I'm on an legacy Alltel unlim plan as well and I have never heard of this before...I would be very cautious @ this point bc something doesn't sound right with what they are presenting to you...do you use a lot of data? If so, they may be trying to get you off the unlim plan to help lessen those of us left with the old Alltel legacy plans...either way, protect your unlim data @ all costs lol....it's worth it's weight in gold literally
