Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Waiting Room

yep, here too...I glanced over the main email and almost fainted because I thought it was the Nexus.

So I went and visited my local VZW store to see the Razr many of them I talk to a few times here and there so I started chatting with two of them and they started talking about the Razr, I said nah I'm waiting for the Galaxy Nexus and both of them had a look of disapproval which was odd.

Anyhow thought I should share my experience, cant wait!

That's because they are told to push the razr more to get more commissions and make verizon more money. Simple with verizon their droid brand> than everything else( to them it is)

I used to sell wireless. No commission is made on the phones. At least with the indirect. Commission is made on the contracts. They might get spiffs. It isn't really anyone's business on how they are paid. How would you like being asked about your rate of income. All the phones get shown. And not all the reps are like those you talk about. I sold to the needs of the customer. I definitely am not going to over sell. I want the customer happy with their device. That is how I sell. I give suggestions and show them. I never dissed a device. Even blackberry. I kept my personal opinions out of it. The best sales professional is one who is informed and also doesn't make up bull to just get the sale. Misleading a customer will definitely cause a rift sooner than you think

Nothing about the way they act when I go in there seems to suggest they do.

Not to go off topic, but does anyone know if I have to let the Verizon sales reps man-handle my new phone?

I've got class every single day at 9:30 and need to go in and out of the store and I'm fully capable of activating and setting up my new device. If not, I'll most likely just order it online instead to remove the hassle.

Didn't think this deserved it's own thread, so I'm posting it here. Since the ICS Source pushed today - earlier than I think anyone expected - is there any chance this encourages VZW to release the phone while ICS is still a big selling point?

The VZW Corporate Store near me, when I got my Droid X said they have to make sure its fully functional before I walk out. I have tried it. For the Gnex if they have it in store, I have google two step so I will not have my password until I get to my computer to log in and add it. So Ill see if that will get them to give it to me lol, If not ill create another account ha

Same thing for me. Went in when.the Razr was up for demo. And now with the Rezound. Both times they couldn't be bothered after i mentioned the Nexus. That's when I start to complain about the Charge and then they seem to understand. Sales people are sheisty.

I don't that you can do that. I asked on the last phone I purchased and it was either make the purchase over the phone and the wait for it to be delivered, or purchase it at the store.

Rumor: Black Friday?

I was at the Verizon store today, and when i asked about the GN he told me it was probably going to be around the "Black Friday Holiday." This is different from what he told me about a week ago, that being the 17th. So from all these rumors and leaks and such, I'm almost sure that the GN will be out no later than Black Friday, but probably not the 17th.

well, based off of all the rumors, FFC filings, shipments made, BMX posts, etc. I am going out on a limb and saying it is going to be ANNOUNCED tomorrow and preorders start tomorrow for friday release.


BMX "google music launch will debut with the Nexus" - tomorrow (preorder)
Shipment of 120K devices made - friday release
FFC confidential filling released today - tommow announcement (preorder)
Rumors of 17th and 18th launch - Friday Launch
Information from Qualcomm Verizon rep "release before the week of black friday" - 18th launch

This is my speculation so take it as you will.

Sadly, you can never trust a store employee.

Sometimes they know something, but just can't say anything.
Sometimes they know nothing and say things they pulled out of their lower backside.
Sometimes they know nothing and the blank look on their face will suck you into the black hole hiding behind their eyes.

Just depends on the employee.

For what it's worth, an indirect (AWireless) around here called me today to start a preorder for the Nexus. He said he's still not sure of the release date, but that it would be here "next week at the latest".
