Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Waiting Room

Well, to be honest the first Nexus One was a white box as well. No idea what the Nexus S came in. But yeah remember it is a nexus device and Google may have had a hand in the outer box look

These could also be for the VZW SME's that have been reported to receive the device in advance. hey may have specially marked units for SME's (and thus are packaged in white packaging) so they are not re-sold, accidentally, to the public? Or perhaps plain white is the packaging. It looked like on the bottom it had the normal phone stickers.

Smes don't come packaged like that. They are white boxes but have Verizon written on them and stuff. Like the old clnr boxes.

If you look at the prior 4g phone boxes they are black as opposed to all graphical. White has been the marketing color on this "pure google" campaign. I bet its embossed somewhere and we just can't see it.

Why would they start selling on Friday? Verizon has handled this release in such a strange way.

Maybe Verizon hopes that if they release the phone on Friday it will force people to come into the stores. Those who are desperate for the device will likely go to the store on Friday instead of waiting a couple of more days for it to be delivered.

Get people in the stores and try to sell them overpriced accessories.

About the white box... My wife and I both had N1's and the boxes were white. I never saw Sammies first nexus, but with all things considered. I don't see the white box as a sign to it's not the SGN. Just my opinion, take it as you will.

It may be strange but it took out an option to challenge the RAZR and Rezound during the big holiday sale dates which obviously have big advertising budgets since I can't go an hour without seeing one or the other.

Nexus s didn't have a plain white box. The box looked like the GN box from the unboxing videos.

Yup. And what's funny is... they pulled the non-announce crap with the Thunderbolt. Drove people NUTS. "Coming Soon". It was coming soon a month ago. Now it's just late.
