Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Waiting Room

Yes, I know, but it is all speculation. There is no solid info out there right now. A few people here keep referring to the BGR article. That is about the furthest thing from a solid rumor possible.

That being said, I could definitely see the screen push in 4.6, but I don't think that the physical dimensions of the phone will increase beyond the Nexus now. Or I hope not at least. I love that the Nexus is speak compared to all the other bricks out there.

There's no way they could put the 4.6' screen on the Nexus S body. Even with 16:9 ratio the phone has to get wider. I don't think they can't push the screen up to the very edge of the sides because you would be touching the screen by just holding the phone as it already happens time to time with current phones.

yes, but you could fit it on what is normally a 4.3 inch frame, which isn't that bad

I guess so... due to the screen ratio change (assuming it is going to 16:9) there's very little change to the width of current 4.3' screens (480x800). The screen's getting taller by 0.36 inch which just about covers the area for the touch sensitive buttons. So, it's seem actually possible to make it smaller than, let's say, HTC EVO by a couple of millimeters if they really try. :)

Um, what post # was it that you quoted me from, because I remember typing the first paragraph, but I don't remember the second, nor does it sound like me

Ive got a question, what do people think about the chances of the Nexus Prime having an SD card slot for expandable memory via s microSD. Someone at work today told me the Nexus 2 didnt have one, only had internal memory. That would really suck to have hardware like that with no expandable memory.

Samsung has an announcement on September 1st. Anyone think its the nexus prime? In one video they show a lot of waves which could also mean a new bada phone. But Samsung is way more popular for android than for bada. Thoughts? I REALLY hope its the nexus prime.

Google will announce the prime, not Samsung.

Yea unless Google will be there also i don't see anyone but Google announcing this.

It would be great if this thing has a SDcard slot but with the feature moving to the clouds putting expandable memory in this thing would be imo like saying the cloud storage services we have are still not worth using, As much as I would want a SDcard slot . I am expecting this to have none but hopefully 32 or 64gbs built in.

I'm sure this has been pointed out before, but I'll say it anyway. The 4.5" screen originally made me a little uncertain. 4.3" is a good size. I had used my cousins 4.5" Infuse and it was just so huge. I was worried the Nexus Prime would just be too monstrous.
However, since we expect ICS to have no physical buttons, that means less bezel at the bottom. My point is that the overall size of the phone could still be the same as the Evo or Droid X. You just have more screen where the buttons used to be. I'd be pretty psyched if that turned out to be the case.

Personally I think we are all junping to conclusion with the size of this phone. Maybe it will have buttona, and maybe even a thick bezel. The Infuae doesnt have that much bezel , but is still really big. Also, we have to take into account the aspect ratio of this device.

Assuming it won't have the buttons and has 16:9 screen ratio I believe they could make it as "small" as EVO. I was hoping it would be more like Nexus S size, but with 4.6' screen I guess that's not going to happen. :(

What I find funny is how Evo is now considered standard, and for many people anything smaller is unacceptable (yeah I know, that's what she said ;) ). Yet when it was announced we heard the same cries of horror about gigantic phones.
