Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Waiting Room

it is clear from that photo that the body is a metal body, and every glass seen on high end phones is made by gorills this days.

While that may be true, there's no way one can conclude that the device in the picture has it just by looking at it, especially when there's no mention of it in the article.

obviously we are talking about rumors, nothing official, but why are you here, aren't you here to talk about the latest from prime?

Uh ... yeah. I don't mind rumors, leaks, speculation, etc. That is the point of this forum. But, why present something as fact that's based on nothing? That I do mind.

you are free from skip my posts from now on :)
I'm not presenting something as fact, I'm am talking about the latest rumors, rumors are always rumors so to keep with a pinch of salt.

EDIT: If you don't mind rumors, leaks, speculation, etc. don't you think that it has more sense that you will be back on this thread when the prime is launched and we have official info?
Why are you there if you don't mind rumors, leaks ecc.?

I just took exception to you stating that it was "confirmed that nexus prime is metal unibody with gorilla glass". If you meant "confirmed" to be interpreted as rumor or speculation, then ... okay, I'll take that.

I hope it has Gorilla Glass. But keep in mind that the Nexus S doesn't, so it is not a guarantee.

my personal feeling is that at least 90% of the "info" on here is rumor and speculation. so, it's really kind of redundant and unnecessary to qualify every statement with "rumored," "believed," "speculated," etc. those kind of qualifiers should just be implied. because only a small percentage is actual fact, it would be easier to just qualify those actual fact statements with "confirmed," "known," "established," etc.

that being said, are sblantipodi's speculations logic based, or fantasy based??? for the gorilla glass statement, he makes a pretty logical assumption, given the makeup of most high end devices these days, and the fact that this is Google's once-a-year-release flagship device. the metal body conclusion is a little more of a stretch. there have been some leaks/rumors of a metal chassis on this device, but what we see in the pic isn't enuf to confirm this, imo.

I think Samsung announced all theit future high end phones would have Gorilla Glass, no? I hope it does and I see why he thinks it's metal. The bandig around the device is grayish, like metal or something. It could be something else, but its a good sign.

Do I have my rumors right? This is expected to be released on Verizon first, and the other American carriers at a later date?

I hope that this doesn't come off negative toward the Prime, but it warms my heart to see that Apple only announced the IPhone 4S and not a totally redesigned IPhone 5. I was kind of worried that an IPhone 5 would be real competition to the Prime, but the IPhone 4S (at least hardware wise) is a minor upgrade and I think/hope that the Prime will blow this out of the water. Only thing that I can say I'm a bit envious about is Siri, which I have been looking forward to its integration with the OS. But besides that I truly think that the Prime is going to have almost no competition at all. (At least until quad core phones start showing up). Regardless I couldn't be more happy that Apple announced such a minor update so that when some Apple Fanboy says that their new IPhone is better than my Prime I won't even feel a need to defend myself.

I haven't had time to examine all the iPhone news. So, what is Apple improving in their iPhone 4S besides processor speed, slightly longer battery life, and iOS? Yeah, it doesn't seem to be much of an improvement.

I think the battery life is lateral

CPU is now dual core A5 instead of single core A4
GPU is now dual core SGX543 instead of single core SGX535
1080p video capture
8MP camera, faster ISP

iOS 5 and iCloud

I think that's it.. i think appropriate for an S revision.. but I don't think it convinces either camp to switch..
