Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Waiting Room

Maybe it's already been said, but the recent "focus group" docs Phil posted HERE in the Bionic Forum seem a lot more on point with this device than the Bionic or even the SGS II (which I maintain will be a 3G-only device). The documents seem to harp on packing maximum power into every bit of space the device has. To me, that means less wasted space (no hard buttons/larger screen, what have you). Am I dreaming? YMMV,

Seriously, the Bionic, SGSII, and now the Nexus Prime all on Big Red. They have not released anything that can be considered a true top tier device in how long and now they are going to release these three monsters in a matter of a few month's span.

The best part of this is that should the new iPhone be released this fall, it will be surrounded by these beasts. Android is going to be offering people some seriously awesome choices.

I am a little surprised by this news but me likey! I pretty much counted this phone out thinking it would be 3G and the Prime would fill the 4GLTE spot.

If GS2 releases in August, I might jump on it until the Prime or Vigor are released. If it drags into September I'm waiting.

wth is going on??? 2 Sammy LTE dual cores on verizon within 2 months of each other?? that doesn't sound right. makes me think the Nexus Prime won't be here in Oct. end of the year, maybe...

CK did say that SGS2 will get LTE over at the http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...latest-release-news-august-3.html#post1115856

hold the phone!! (pardon the pun :)) VZW updated their tweet - it was referring to the Galaxy Tab, not the phone. so, we're back to where we were (and which makes more sense) - GS2 3g in Aug, and Prime LTE in (hopefully) Oct.

Cue the sad horn sound effect. Screw it, I'm not editing my post again, lol.

Just wondering, but where is everyone getting this October release date from? Thervis not one single thread of reliable info on the next Nexus, letcalone a release date. Hell, no one even knows who is making it. I can pretty much guarantee its not going to be october though.

following the BGR report of the rumored Nexus Prime, Phil posted this:

Nexus ______. October.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That is all.

http://forums.androidcentral.com/rumored-devices/101538-nexus-______-october.html

he then followed up with this current thread, noting that "unconfirmed" had been removed from the label of this phone. admittedly, the Oct date hasn't been expressly confirmed, but that is where the date is coming from. i certainly hope that it's Oct, but i tend to believe that it will be around the holidays.

lol all of the SGSII camp cried out in one voice of joy with the announcement of 4G then were silenced. That sucks to get hopes up then crushed like that. I know the bionic camp felt that back in March/April with the delay announcement. Definate Failsauce

Has anyone thought of the possibility that the phone will be announced in October? If nothing else, given typical delays, even on the off chance it is supposed to ne released in October, it is still unlikely. And, wasn't that BGR article getting torn apart all over the web? Every other tech site I check was flat out laughing at it.

But wouldn't it make sense to announce it around when the iPhone 5 is announced? Drop ICS on them to possibly steal some of Apples thunder?

I dont think google is worried about that because they will steal thunder from apple regardless especially if this is on all the major carriers it will sell and steal sales from the iphone.

When exactly is the iphone 5 being announced? Realistically, the Nexus doesn't sell all thatcmany units to consumers. We may make a big deal out of it, but the majority of cell phone buyers have no idea about it. I don't think it will steal too much of the iphones thunder
