Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Waiting Room

actually, an Oct announcement makes sense, and follows generally with the history of prior Nexus devices. i still believe (or hope, at least) in a release before the end of the year. as for the sites tearing apart the BGR article, i'm not aware of those (i did find articles citing BGR, but none refuting it). i know people have been ripping on the photo that went with the article, but i don't think that was intended to be a pic of the actual device. what articles are you referring to??

I'm at work so I can't track them down now, but they were basically saying that some it the specs, like the HD display were never going to happen, and showed some of BGR's bad leaks articles in the past. They basically just said they made it up with the best specs available and had no actual source. Doesn't mean that's true either, but iceouldnt take that article with a grain of salt considering no one else has come up with anything solid since it was written. If someone spoke to BGR, they would have spoken to someone else by now I think.

I could be wrong, but I'm leaning towards no one really knows anything right now.

Edit : And, really, all those articles do is confirm what I'm saying. They all say "word on the street," and "from people in the know," and all cite the BGR article. So basically the regurgitate what is in the article and the rumors started from the article without having an actual source. I think its more likely that BGR made up a source and wrote an article including some things long assumed, like no capacitive buttons, some pretty solid assumptions, like the cpu, and some wild ones to wet everyone's appitites, like the HD screen. They got a lot of hits over it and caused a stir. When its all said and done, the phone will come out, they'll be write about some things and wrong about others. That's how it always goes.

my understanding is that Phil has his own sources. i doubt that he would have removed the "unconfirmed" label based only on the BGR article.

I'm not trying to be abparty pooper, I'm just noticing a lot of posts in this thread seem to be taking some of this stuff as fact. There's a lot of, "I was gonna upgrade, but since this is coming in october," and "thank god this is going to launch across all networks at once."

All we know about the next Nexus is absolutley nothing. We don't know who's making it, what the hardware is, when its coming, or what carrier/carriers its going to be on.

hmmm, that sounds exactly like a party pooper! :p

Lol, I know. I'm just trying to be the realist here. A lot of people seem to be taking some of these things as fact when its all just speculation

if it wasn't for speculation, none of these forums would exist!

a dose of realism is always good - but just in very minute quantities :)

I have no doubt that it will come out on Verizon...

Although, September NEXT year would be nice :)

Gotta wait for my 2 year upgrade, only a year to go......

Because phil has his own sources he wouldnt just remove the unconfirmed because of a bgr story. I am sure more details will begin to leak in the next few weeks or so and then everyone can know for sure.

I don't like your way of thinking. Myself along with many others have been sitting on our upgrades waiting for a good phone. Why delay for just one lolz. Heck if it comes out as rumored you will have time to read reviews and let bugs get worked out lol

Lol, you're right. Back to your regularly scheduled wild speculation. I, myself, am going to at least wait for Mister blurry cam to make and appearence.

When exactly is the iphone 5 being announced? Realistically, the Nexus doesn't sell all that many units to consumers. We may make a big deal out of it, but the majority of cell phone buyers have no idea about it. I don't think it will steal too much of the iphones thunder

I would agree if it is only released on 1 maybe 2 carriers. But if as the rumors say , it comes to all carriers and is a beast like/better than the GSII is. Last year Sammy sold over 10million GS1's and I will assume this year will be no different. Google is looking at a great deal of N3 phones to sell. As much of a bad rap Sammy got this still out sold every1(Android phones). Big reason is they had there phones on the all carriers world wide. Google can and could do the same with this 1. Its not confirmed but if AC posted it I will believe!!! lol.

Agree. I understand that sometimes sources miss-read and mistakes are made, but for Phil to post information like this leads me to believe him. And if its wrong its wrong. We will have another rumored device to talk and drool over soon after this 1 is confirmed or dismissed.. Remember Quad core is coming soon lol.

Anyone have any links that it will come out in Oct(rumors)? Since it will have ice cream sandwhich, which will be finished by November(i think), I think it will come during december, hopefully late November.

I agree, IF it comes to all carriers at once. After my EVO hardware issues, and the amazing Samsung internals, I have more faith in Samsung than the other manufacturers. Hope they are making it

The Nexus devices haven't sold because up until now, they were only able to purchase online. It's only with the Nexus S on Sprint did a carrier fully embrace it, and now we're seeing the same thing with the Nexus S on AT&T. I think if it's given a proper advertisement campaign, the next Nexus has a good chance of being a success.

All it requires is a little marketing... which let's be honest, Google hasn't been the best at marketing their devices.
