Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Waiting Room

They should just put a CDMA radio in the 4G Xoom and be done with it. That's the perfect size phone for my hands.

P.S. I'm a Yeti IRL

Well, I am still holding out for a stock ICS HTC phone. A metal unibody Nexus Prime/3 with ICS 4.0, 720p 4.6" screen, 1 GB RAM, 1.5 Ghz Dual Core, DLNA, and NFC, is my dream phone! And why not throw in the EVO 3D's camera button in there for good measure haha.

The Nexus S is a nice phone, but I do have some problems with it, the lack of SD Card support, and no Led notification light (like others have posted, it is really is handy to have), and the way the haptic feedback when typing a text feels compared to my HTC Legend. It makes the phone feel less solid, kind of more light and airy, that's the way it feels to me at least.

The SGSII is an amazing phone, and yeah I would buy one if I didn't have 2 years left on my contract (3 year contracts in Canada ugh), but it feels a little awkward by being so thin and so wide at the same time, it doesn't fill out into my hand at all, and it is also too light in my opinion (I know Samsung wanted to blow everyone away though, with a big screen, super thin, and super light). I want something substantial in my hand, not a wafer. Put all the specs I mentioned in the EVO 3D's shell, and you've got the best phone for me (maybe not for everyone though of course).

I am guessing one of the main reasons Google went with Sammy again is because of their screens, which really are the best of any smartphone OEMs right now.

If HTC doesn't come out with a stock ICS phone though, then I'll be picking up the Prime somehow!

I would love a unibody HTC Nexus too, but I don't think its going to happen. I think the screens are part of the reason Google goes with Samsung. The other major reason is the processors. If the way the Hummingbird spanked the Snapdragon is any indication of what the Exynos is going to do, then I completely understand going wit Samsung

Even if it is released on all carriers it will not outsell the iphone (or even the GS II) because the average consumer responds to what people tell them is good (iphone), what the salesmen tell them to get (iphone), and marketing (uhh iphone). So unless google, the carriers, and whoever manufactures this dumps a lot of cash into marketing it won't sell as well as you might expect. Nexus phones don't sell well because people in the forums aren't normal, we respond to specs and features, normal consumers want the newest droid or whatever their friend tells them is cool.
One thing that could hurt the iphone is the fact that the salesmen (at the Verizon resellers at least) don't make a lot of commission off of them due to Apple regulating the prices so much.

i know how much you like "confirmation" (;)), so i'll point out that there's nothing to indicate that an Exynos chip will be used. in fact, even with all the rumors about the Prime, Exynos hasn't even been mentioned. some people are claiming it will be TI OMAP 4460. personally, i'd like to see the Krait - that thing is supposedly blowing most everything away, especially with speed and power consumption

Lol, yeah, maybe I'm getting a bit ahead of myself. There really haven't been too many rumors though, and I guess I was just assuming. Whatever it ends up being, I have confidence in Samsung's processors.

If Sammy is making this phone , then more likely it will carry the Exynos chip-set. Nothing has been said to that effect but unless its a collaboration between manufacturers ( which would be cool in away) its pretty much will be all Sammy in and out.

i would tend to agree with you, but for the fact that it's a pure Google phone. therefore, what Google wants, Google gets.

That's true, but the vigor certainly seems like a reasonable alternative.

Have they said the vigor is an android phone? The original blurry can pics article questioned if it was wp7. I haven't really seen anything about it other than that.

I haven't seen confirmation either way, but my god they would be idiots to waste that hardware on WP7.

It is android on the nena mark benchmarcks it was running 2.3.4 and droidlife said it would get ICS.

Interesting. If the ICS part is true, that pretty much rules out this device coming any time soon (next couple months). It's not a nexus device so not only would we not see this before ICS is released, but we wouldn't see it until after Sense for ICS is released on top of that.

Edit: Referring to the Vigor, not the Prime in case there was some confusion.

I wasn't reading that as it would be released with ICS, but that it would get it at some point
