Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Waiting Room

Glad to see that all this excitement about the newest member of the nexus family.. with all the new devices coming this fall android users will be quite happy.

BMX, maybe/maybe not intentional, but it sounds like you're pretty confident the Prime will be out before the end of the year?? this would make me very happy, and would free up a lot of my time spent on these forums debating what device to get... :) any more insight on the rumored specs??

This is mostly speculative, but an interesting thought on the release date of the nexus prime, ie a week after the iphone is announced

O I could be wrong but I think they said it will be upgraded to ICS not launch with it but launch with 2.3.4

where did you read that??? everything i've read indicates it's coming with ICS out of the box, and there's no mention of 2.3.4. of course, this is all rumor, too - but i'd be interested in seeing anyone who had said it wouldn't have ICS.

If you look at the picture they have your can clearly see it says 2.3.4 hold on I'm going to get th like but I'm on mobile version but hold on

It's showing up as coming either this month or next. Not gonna have ics in September.

i was mixed up - i thought you were talking about the Prime, but you were talking about the Vigor. you're right - Vigor with 2.3.4, but Prime with ICS. my bad - carry on... :)

Of course it shows gingerbread now. ICS isnt out. If they had screens of the prime or any other phone, it would be on GB still too.

I'm pretty sure if the "Prime" is being tested right now, its being tested with ICS on it.

Your pretty sure doesn't mean much. I see the rampant speculation in the thread, but my statement holds true.
Your comment is nothing more than speculation too. Especially considering Google does have access to ICS, because, you know, they're developing it. We saw Gingerbread on the Nexus S a while before the Nexus S was announced or came out.

I am not speculating that we have gingerbread. We do have it. Anything else is speculation.

I think that the device is speculation but ICS is real... Google had said that the next update will be called ICS and even if its on a device unknow to us yet they have to be running it on something to test it. How else would they know it works ...

There is no doubt ICS is real. I am sure the device is real as well. I am saying that just because they have 1 doesnt mean they have the other. There is no reason ICS couldnt be tested on a nexus S, and there is nothing saying the next nexus isnt further in development than ICS, as we have NO idea how far along either are.

Ultimately my point was that just because the rumored screen shots of the vigor show it running 2.3.4 does not indicate at all what OS version it will launch with, and that it makes sense that it displayed 2.3.4 because that was current as of the date of the supposed screen shots.

Interesting. If the ICS part is true, that pretty much rules out this device coming any time soon (next couple months). It's not a nexus device so not only would we not see this before ICS is released, but we wouldn't see it until after Sense for ICS is released on top of that.

Edit: Referring to the Vigor, not the Prime in case there was some confusion.

Not really because like it says in the benchmarks it is running 2.3.4 and it would get ICS not come with it from the start so that makes it more likely it could release before ICS is out.
