Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Waiting Room

It might not have 4G. We simply don't know.

Also, Sprint got Samsung to add WiMax compatibility to their GSII variant, so your theory is dead :P

And no; EVERYTHING is speculation.

It would be a shock if this device isn't 4G. It's taking the place of the Charge which is a 4G device. There is a lot of speculation about this device, but it will be 4G.

My buddy with Verizon went to a meeting yesterday where the Samsung Rep acknowledge the existence of a ICS Samsung device, but declined to name it. Supposed to be out around the end of the year. November is around the end of the year in my opinion.

And even swapped out the SoC in the T-Mobile version so it could do HSPA+

There's also the Celox which is the same APQ + MDM strategy that Samsung is using for the T-Mobile GS2, so if Verizon were getting a LTE GS2.. that's what it would look like.

But since none of that has happened, it seems highly likely that something different is definitely coming.

You can bet your bottom dollar that Samsung's cooking up something awesome. I make these points:

A) Verizon passed on the SGII? Why? I presume that though they liked the screen, they thought of it as just another 3G device. Walk in any VZW store anywhere, and you'll be blasted by at least a dozen 3G devices and only four 4G devices.
B) The Rumor mill is heating up. It's almost as if someone at VZW & Google's PR departments are doing a slow drip feed...occassionally giving us nuggets of truth (specs) mixed with fiction (placeholders & null specs)
C) The 4G MiniTablet Tidal Wave. There's already been "an earthquake" rumor in the digital ocean...now the Tidal Wave is starting to mount. Within 2-5 months most the carriers will have at least 2-4 of these devices. It's all about looking at the trends now, the overall direction, where they converge, and anticipating where things will be in 6m-1yr for now.

First time posting. Not sure if anyone has seen this yet.

Samsung Prime Headed to Verizon First in Late October, Looks Like a Bigger Nexus S? - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog

If this is true I'm both a little excited and a little disappointed. I do like the idea of the Prime looking like an oversized nexus s, but I was really hoping for the Prime to have the rumored metal build. Also the article notes that the Prime has a single home button much like the original GSII. I really hope that ICS is a buttonless UI and that the home button seen on the device was only because the device didn't have ICS on it yet. Fingers crossed that at the very least the Prime will be buttonless. If not I'm sure it will still be my next phone. :D

Edit-
Seems as if Kate beat me to posting this. Lol

If the new Nexus looks like the Nexus S, I will be so happy. I love my S. The design of the body is perfect imo

I don't hate the design of the Nexus S, but I do hope for different building materials, that they don't leave out a memory card slot this time, & start using a notification LED.

I'm not expecting Samsung to go to a metal body, so i think we're still going to get plastic. The S is sturdy, doesn't bother me. LED is pretty likely I think. Expandable memory, not so much. I'm still of the belief that it kind d of goes against Google's cloud mentality

Something doesn't sound right here. Why didn't DroidGuy produce any pictures? Also, why would the Prime even have a home button if it's going to be built into ICS? One of the comments below this article says that "likely that the Nexus Prime will not have a home button (that will just make Apple sue Samsung again)." I agree with that commenter.

Ok, right. But I still agree with the person who said that "likely that the Nexus Prime will not have a home button (that will just make Apple sue Samsung again)."

Guys it has to have a home button because its running gingerbread! It will be removed when ics comes out.

this is supposed to be the phone that debuts ICS - so why would it have a home button to begin with?!
