Disco light issue:
Fix - go to Settings - My Device - Accessibility (for vision and hearing impaired) - down to flash notification click the box on then click ok then turn it off.
Your lights should stop flashing when notifications and calls come in.

Had that problem and it was already unchecked.

Its unchecked for everyone by default. Checking it then unchecking it is what fixes the issue.

What do I lose by doing this? What do I need to back up?

Was this meant for the factory reset?
If so, when you fdr you put your phone back the way it would come from a store. Unless tou backup app data etc. you will lose it all and have to start fresh

I work at home so just left the house after getting the update. I am not getting a data connection since updating. I was getting 3g for a while (where I used to get 4g without an issue) but now I'm not even getting that. Any suggestions on where to look for any issues?

Verizon was having Issues Friday and Saturday. Their entire LTE network went down here and my phone wouldn't get data at all. Actually went just not the store and the guy knew why i was there before I could get three words out of my mouth.

I finally figured that out when I saw all the tweets to VZ Support. I hate coincidence. I had just done the upgrade to 4.3 and then left the house (where I'm on wifi all the time) to find no data on the phone. The timing was what screwed it up for me...

I finally figured that out when I saw all the tweets to VZ Support. I hate coincidence. I had just done the upgrade to 4.3 and then left the house (where I'm on wifi all the time) to find no data on the phone. The timing was what screwed it up for me...

The funny thing is if you had a GS4 your LTE went no where because it supports an LTE band our phone doesn't. Sitting next to a GS4 really made me think my phone (update) was the issue. Their network conpletely crashed for me. I had no data, at all, yet the S4 inches away was rocking LTE.

Did a factory reset and that didn’t fix the minor issue of app icons becoming transparent when moved to the SD card. I can move apps to the SD card on my Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 and they do not become transparent.

Seems like a bug in the update.

When I am on Chrome and I go to my(samsung) home screen then re-open Chrome I can read the header but the body of the screen is all black. Any thoughts?

I'm having this same issue and I'm seeing these black webpages a lot, way too much for my liking. I don't like any of the other browsers and I'd like to stick with Chrome, so does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Additionally, anybody else experiencing the 3 second screen delay after pressing the power button? Essentially, every time I press the power button to turn on the screen to unlock it, it takes a full three seconds just for the screen to turn on. Any thoughts on fixing this too?

I mistakenly downloaded the Verizon update but have not installed it. I've heard it knocks out Foxfi which I have because I have a grandfathered unlimited data plan. My question is, if I do a factory reset before this update is forced to install, will it delete the download?

Has anyone been able to get back into the hidden menu's after the 4.3 update??

I tried the *#22745927# code but the dialer screen just goes blank again, I also tried *#197328640# which does nothing. I did root using the saferoot method which was pretty darn easy, and I edited the efs/carrier/hiddenmenu file to read 'ON'. I am able to get into some of the menus, *#0011#, **87284, just not the one I need.

In case anyone needs it here's the saferoot method: [ROOT] Saferoot: Root for VRUEMJ7, MK2, and Android 4.3 - xda-developers

I had to do a couple things different from the instructions.
1. Download Kies3 and install before connecting the phone.
2. Disconnect from your internet before connecting the phone, this makes sure that the Kies drivers are used.
3. Make sure Kies can connect to your phone before running the script. If it doesn't go to "tools | reinstall drivers" with the phone connected.

I cannot make or receive phone calls. Talked with Verizon support and said that others are having the same issue but didn't have a solution. I am not rooted BTW. We tried pulling the SIM card and battery but that didn't work. Calls ring for the sender and then go to my voicemail. It does not ring on my phone.

Data works. I can send and receive text messages. It's just sending and receiving calls. I cannot even dial #661 or my voicemail.

Anyone else having this issue?

Update: Verizon told me to get a new SIM card to see if that fixes my issue.

Since the update, I can't access the "shortcut to bluetooth" I created in Nova. I get a "App isn't installed" message.

Anyone else?

I'm dealing with two major problems. I did the upgrade because I thought (hoped) it would fix a problem linking the phone with my Hyundai using bluetooth. Before the upgrade, it would only download 119 of my 900 some odd contacts, none of them the important ones, like my family members. After the upgrade, only 21 contacts are downloading.

Other problem is Google Drive. Every time I try to open a doc, I get a message that Android stopped working. Google docs are blocked where I work, so if I can't get to them on my phone, I'm in real trouble.

And yes, I'm also po'd that I can't use FoxFI anymore. Renders my Nexus tablet useless.
