Verizon Galaxy S7 NOT working with Android Auto ...

That sounds very much like what I experienced before I changed USB cables. AA would start and sometimes only half the screen would show, other times it was full screen but unreadable, and other times it would load and then freeze. I suggest you try the OEM cable. Mine now works 100% of the time with my short Monoprice cable.

I have the s7, and avh-x4800bs and I'm getting the same funny screen, all jarbled, but responsive to touch on the head until and on the smartphone, I just can't see what. I have tried everything on this thread and still nothing but jumbled lines and colors. I do not have the original cable or access to the cable, what can I use instead?

Try different cables. I believe the shorter ones will be better (based past experience with chargers and mounts). I can't say for sure what will work other than the ones I have tried...

I've ordered the T-Mobile variant and am very interested to know if it's supported.
I just got an s7 edge through t-mobile. My V10 worked beautifully with my pioneer system through app radio live. My s7 does not. It works.....sort of. The sound is there, and I can see everything going on phone. My screen on stereo is just a hot mess....basically no picture. I have tried different cables...nothing makes it better. I hope a fix is on the way or this phone is getting returned.

Worth a read, IMHO ...

FYI. I bought Package Disabler Pro (you don't have to do this) and I disabled the Car Mode that Samsung packages with 6.0.1 on the S7 Edge. Guess what .. AA worked for me with 10 different microUSB cables of varying quality. It appears that Car Mode support and Mirrorlink support totally confuse the crap out of the Pioneers and most likely all 3rd party decks. I have an 8100NEX in my truck. With Carmode and Mirrorlink unavailable by disabling it .. the only app that answers the Pioneer is AA. It then works absolutely fine.

Cheers.

One more thing .. it appears that it's a 3rd party deck thing. I still had Car Mode and Mirrorlink enabled and it worked fine with the wife's '16 Honda Accord with the same cables. Once I figured out it worked with her Accord and those test cables .. I knew it was a service on the phone that was screwing with the NEX. :D

Intrigued that the wife's 16 Accord works. I have the same setup and no dice. It'll work for 15 seconds or so, then freezes and won't recover. Phone is s7 Edge

Can you elaborate on this? I'm trying to connect AT&T Note 7 to 8100NEX (my Note 4 worked well before upgrading)

So here is my issue.. I have a new s7, had the 6.. I have been using both just fine in my 16 Silverado using the android auto, out of the blue today when I launch android auto it also NOW kicks in to "car mode", not driving mode, already dealt with that. So I can access maps music, all the apps, but the VOICE function stopped working. Won't respond to any voice commands at all, and when I shut off the car mode, it also shuts down android auto??? Any ideas, anyone... It was working just fine until this morning..

In the past when my AA wasn't reading text messages back to me, AA wasn't speaking at all unless it was giving me GPS directions. So I could say "Call Steve mobile" and it would do it but wouldn't confirm by saying "OK, calling Steve mobile". I would also not respond when asking AA "What's the weather today". It was just silent. I had this problem a couple of times in the past and doing a factory reset on my phone seem cured the problem. Since then I've turned off having my apps auto-update in case there's some Google app that throws AA for a loop. So since my last factory reset on 8/8/16, AA has been working fine and all my apps are up to date - GREAT.

But a few days ago, AA was working fine all day until late in the day it stopped reading text messages back to me again. I didn't do any update or anything, it just stopped talking. But this time, if I ask for the weather - I get it. If I asked what's 2+2 - I get it. If I ask to call someone, it talks back and confirms who I'm calling. It's ONLY reading text messages back to me that's the issue.

I've checked my media volume and it's fine. I've uninstalled and reinstalled AA, and still no luck. SUGGESTIONS???

I got nothing for you my friend, I got into my truck the next day after this post, and everything worked fine, I got into my truck this morning and it's not working again. I didn't do any software updates or anything, so I don't know wtf is going on. Maybe our vehicles need firmware update???????? I don't know at this point.. I'll keep you post, hope you will do the same...

I am having nothing but trouble trying to attach my S7 Edge to Pioneer NEX 4200. Did you set any special settings on the phone or radio?

I have tried everything and I can't get it to sink with my 2016 Tahoe or 2016 Camaro

Anyone get their Verizon Galaxy S7 Edge to work with the Pioneer 4200NEX? We have tried everything. The installer has been on the phone with Pioneer support and nothing works. Suggestions, please...

OK, I just switched back to android and had the same issue (different phone). I found that I was doing the following wrong:
Incorrect usb port on the avh-4200nex. For carplay it was always port 1. Android auto uses port 2.
In the head unit menus there is a section for input setup. The first thing in the list was smartphone. I select this and see several options. The first was device type. Mine said iPhone (selected) and other. I changed it to other. The second row listed input type. It had updated the USB to usb2. The list of aps at the bottom updated itself and my phone started stepping me through permissions. Once I was done on the phone end everything works.

Hope this helps some of you.
