Verizon gets marshmallow tomorrow... (Update: It is out now!)

I just downloaded and installed, phone feels really warm around power button camera area and google play services starts downloading but stops 25 percent through... Still in the fiest fes minutes of use but will update later

Wifi calling is now a feature on your v10 with new update! Just setup mine

Done...
Took 45 minutes or so.
>A bunch of app permissions I normally turn off were turned back on.
>Go90 app was turned back on.
>6 knocks to wake screen.
>FPS vibrates now
>Wifi calling engaged
>FPS is a little faster.
>Verdict still out on the Doze feature. Not expecting great things if it only works when the phone is completely motionless / dead still. I keep my phone in my pocket all day, and plug in the charger at night.

... nothing really major as far as day to day operations go though.

I installed as well.

First things I noticed:
- The first few minutes post-install were slow and groggy (and warm!), but came back to normal after a while.
- For some reason I had to uninstall updates to Google Play Services and force an update.
- New features (SD card interface, Do Not Disturb, Wifi Calling)... Do Not Disturb has an icon in the notification shade
- Forced Installer Mode on USB connection is GONE!! (when you connect your USB, you can set the default to be "File Transfer" or just choose a mode)
- Android Auto no longer auto launches when connected via lock screen (this was my FAVORITE part of this phone running Lollipop); I need to see if there are permissions I need to enable.
- I had to clear data/cache on Google Play Music for it to recognize media on the SD Card
- After a power off/power on, you have to use non-fingerprint unlock methods to unlock the phone.

I'm really shocked that VERIZON of all carriers had this out first on such a "difficult" phone.

Just updated my LG V10 today, am in NC. Seems like they updated the radio have a stronger 4g Lte signal, fps works better and faster, recognized my sd card right away, still discovering new things

Same here. In areas where I would have only two bars, I now have four. Should help with battery life also.

I did break down and installed Marshmallow. 2 things. 1. Battery is HORRIBLE. Typically leaving phone set, overnight it drops from 100 - 94. Last night 100 - 82. Also, go into Data to disable background apps, (some) I get Unfortunately Android stopped working and it takes me back to data screen. Think I know why, cause they moved it to the Battery part now, under optimization. BUT, take notice (Verizon) some you cannot disable background. IE: Google playstore, Verizon apps. I look and of course google playstore is running, I stop, Verizon messages running, I stop. Why would they be running, when not in use? And why didn't they do away with the ability to disable background in Data instead of giving an error? This is of course Verizon.

It took about 45 minutes, after the download, 266 apps to adjust. The google play services deactivation and install was the worst part of it. FPS working better than ever for me with my Obliq case and with the Seido surface case. So far so good.

I had not set up the FPS before, but did last night. Absolutely no problems with my Obliq case. Works flawlessly and fast. Had same issue as some with Play Services needing to be reinstalled/activated, but really no big deal. So far it's just the battery. I wouldn't say horrible, but it does drain. This screen I think is the culprit, other than using Auto Brightness (on past phones I've adjusted manually) , not sure what else can be done short of having a backup battery or larger extended life (really don't want that option). Fortunately I can charge either in my vehicle between appointments or at home so it's not really an issue for me, but I can see where it might be for others.

Before I do a factory reset. Could someone tell me if they get an error when: Settings, data usage, (choose an app to restrict background) of course say okay to verify, then I get error: Unfortunately, the process com.android.settings has stopped. If nobody gets that error, will do a factory reset, ugh.

I see the battery life is better overnight but I haven't notice any issues - everything I use still works great (Just like before).

It's there for me to download... But I'm afraid to do it. Mine is running so good and I'm afraid something stupid will happen.... That's my kinda luck.

My V10 didn't even ask...update just started on Its own

Re: Verizon gets marshmallow tomorrow...

Update went smoothly, however, now my fingerprint scanner doesn't work at all. I'm able to load fingerprints, it just doesn't open with the scanner. It still opens with the unlock pattern. Any ideas?
Someone mentioned that after the update, you cannot use the FP scanner the first unlock after reboot. Thereafter you can.

Is that your case too?

I personally find this beyond ridiculous that lots of people have to do a factory reset after an OS upgrade. What kind of shi. coding are they doing that this is necessary? There should be no reason having to do that.

I am having same type problem. The fps never coming up only pin. I knew I should have waited. Did you ever get a solution to this problem.

Had to do a factory reset to get my problem fixed. What a pain in the ****. I agree with you, shouldn't be any reason we should have to do reset after updates..

I never reset after an update.
