That's the thing for me. I really wanted the One but at this point unless its been upgraded at least somewhat I will pass. In what will seem like only a few more short months other carriers will get a updated One and ours will be outdated.

They gave themselves a lot of leeway by saying later in the summer. The only way for Verizon to really make up for the release would be if they somehow managed to secure a slightly upgraded version of the One (which was rumored to be in the cards from HTC at some point this year, but nothing confirmed of course). I'm pretty sure we're going to get the same thing, but it would be slightly more forgiving it came with the S800 or something else that really differentiates it.

Agreed, they're just rumors and VZW purposely committed to a summer release so they could just delay. Also, I can confirm that the LG G2 has the same plastic feel as the S4. But some people don't mind.

The plastic feel isn't a big deal IMO. I, for one, would slap a case on mine if I got it and have it on pretty much 24/7, so that's easy to overlook. But I'd like to get my hands on it first and see how it feels overall (particularly the volume rocker on the back).

I agree that the HTC One is the only phone I would be interested in getting for the rest of the year. The only problem I have is that I know the HTC One (2?) will come out next year around February - April. Each delay just seems to make the phone more and more obsolete. Although, I wonder if Verizon will even get the successor to the HTC One. I don't imagine the HTC One selling that well on Verizon as it has been out for months on every other carrier. I can't see Verizon picking up the successor if the HTC One fails them.

If you're stuck with Verizon, waiting for whatever HTC comes out with as a successor to the One would be pointless. You'll be waiting another year before they even get it, so you might as well take what you can get at this point.

It actually doesn't look that bad in this shade of blue. I still would've preferred the red one, but I'll decide whenever I finally get to see it in person.

I like the blue and red but would have to see in person before I decide But this photo of the blue does not have a verizon logo so maybe its for AT&T only !!!

I agree, right now the G2 is the only other competing phone against the One on my list. I will NOT break down and get an S4 as much as I'm craving that new phone smell...I know I'll regret it when the One finally does come out. At this point for me it's a waiting game -- August Whenever for the One or if it keeps getting pushed back and then topped with a ridiculous 200$ price tag I'd consider waiting a little longer for the G2. This is just getting ridiculous.

However, I'm more inclined to keep believing the leaked picture of the HTC One Verizon Training Event Email over these rumors. I'm still hoping for a 15th date, and I really do love the blue color.

The S4 isn't bad. I'll admit I almost broke down and got it with all the delays, but I decided to hold out because I like the One so much more.

I'm in the same boat. If the One ends up coming out on the 29th, I might as well wait for the G2 and compare the two before I commit. I really need to switch phones soon, and those 2 weeks would make a huge difference for me. And you can bet on the One releasing at $199 on Verizon. Although Amazon/Costco/Wirefly will likely have it on sale within a week or 2 after it launches.

Their messaging has switched from the same ole "later this summer" bull**** to "it's coming soon." I'm taking that as a sign that the launch really is imminent, but you never really know with mother****ing Verizon.

I really don't understand when people say this phone will be outdated.. it's still the best phone in the Market. is the s4 outdated already?? the MOTO phones don't hold a candle to the One and it just came out. I mean-, who updates there phone every 6 months....

I just saw that too Verizon only has 1 HTC phone listed and that's a windows phone Hopefully this is a good sign for us that are frustrated and waiting!!!!!

See that's where I feel like VZW really screwed themselves with this phone/launch.. I think the HTC One would have still given them great sales despite the droids and Moto If they had launched it by now. They would have seen that and been more optimistic about getting further One "refreshes." I think droid and Moto x sales could/would still be decent to where all of these phones could have done well next to each other, because it provides variety. But now people have switched carriers or settled with a different phone, and I think VZW shot themselves in the foot on this one, and is ruining all future hope of having a partnership with HTC. May not be the best phone manufacturer out there but they are making progress towards something great.

Like what? Every device that is about to be released is rocking 2012 specs. The note 3 is the only thing we know will be a beast. Unless something comes out of left field the S4 and ONE will be the best devices of 2013.

I really hope Thursday is finally the day for my Verizon friends. If I was on Verizon I would buy the ONE again in a heartbeat! It's amazing.

Look at the history of the mobile tech industry, my friend. Of course, it's always progressing so something "better" is always around the corner, but the best devices are announced/released in Q3 of the year. That's not just because of the natural progession, it's because of the holiday season. So in my opinion, if you buy a new device once a year or every two years, it's best to do it in Q3/4.

Lastly, only the Note 3? First of all that's not a direct competitor to the N4/GS4/One/etc. You haven't heard of the LG G2 or the Sony "honami?"

Phonearena has yet another unsubstantiated rumor. Now it's between the 15-31 of August. They are pathetic. I kinda wish someone would submit a false tip just to see if they would report it as news. The last two "leaks" haven't had any screenshots accompanying them.

Update: Now they have reverted back to the 29th. lol

With the number of rep convos and screenshots that have been submitted to this blog (several of them being my own) I think it's safe to say we all agree to disregard anything the reps say. Every single rep convo has contradicted the other; they all say different things. They're about as reliable as the phonearena leaks at this point, lol.

I agree, phonearena is starting to lose credibility with every tip they get of a leak but with no accompanying screenshot. Shoot, at least if the screenshot was available and photoshopped it would be still be more than they're giving us. Apparently this new tip was submitted via a "loyal reader" so I take it with a grain of salt. Why release so many phones in one day?

What really bugs me is how much they're neglecting the HTC One. During the Droid press reveal the phones were almost immediately available for pre-order that same day on Verizon's site. With the LG G2 Verizon has already tweeted the phone on their twitter account (with that logo in, not one, but TWO places on the phone, as if we needed reminding who our carrier is) but absolutely nothing about One except for its appearance in that picture of the chalk outlined house. It's the Big Foot of the Verizon line up right now. Elusive, and full of people claiming to have inside knowledge of its appearance, lol

It's obviouslly Verizon's prerogative is to push all new contracts to a Droid. I don't think Verizon will even officially comment on the One until after their Droid triplets pop out. The Droids are ridiculously over priced as usual. The S4 lags and the iphone is tired. There's not much to chose from ATM. I'm getting anxious and frustrated.
