I haven't called any stores (cause its generally a waste of time) but I can say from quite a few past experiences that if the phone was to launch on Aug 1st don't be let down or surprised by store associates claiming no knowledge of it or not seeing anything in there systems about it. When the Galaxy S3 came out stores in my area reps denied any knowledge of the release date even when it was able to be purchased on their website. Sometimes these stores get the shipments a week usually days before it launches but most of the time lately they will get drop shipments the night before the launch date so employees can't mistakenly sell it a day early. Your better off going to Walmart and looking behind their counter as they will usually not hide them because of their ignorance of what they have.

If anything, I firmly believe that the employees are highly misinformed and confused, while a couple here or there may have inside knowledge they're willing to risk their jobs to share. I say this because my experience in the Verizon store in West Monroe, LA was excruciatingly painful lol. Btw, how do you know if you're in a corp store? This was a retail store but it was pretty small compared to the bigger one in a bigger area of town...so I guess I wasn't in a corp store? Anyway. I went in and asked about the HTC One and the employee told me that they weren't getting it at all. I thought he meant that store but he said no, verizon is skipping the phone altogether because "it's an ok phone." He literally told me the only good thing about the phone was the front speakers and I should just get an external speaker to hook up to my phone, if the speakers were a selling point (which it is for me). I told him it was one of the highest rated phones of this year and multiple twitter accounts and facebook pages by HTC and Verizon already confirmed the release. He said when he checked the product lineup 4-5 weeks ago it wasn't listed and if they did decide to get it it would be sprung on the employees last minute.

I also have screenshots of a VZW online chat where the rep "Amanda" told me employees are purposely kept in the dark to prevent leaks. Lol this employee i spoke to must be living in a cave! He was obviously biased against the phone or just misinformed or a really good liar. I told him if its there Thursday I'm going in there and rubbing it in his face and telling him he needs more proper training lol. I also posted this in the verizon htc one forum titled "htc one pt.2" and the xda-developers forum titled "htc one confirmed date" or something like that. Seems like everyone has conflicting store experiences :/

I don't know what ad you're talking about...the only moto ad they have up is for the new Droid Trio...the Moto X reveal is scheduled for Thursday so I doubt it would already be advertised on the site before the phone's been revealed.

It says BY the end of summer (meaning anytime before the end of summer) not AT the end of summer, which is sept 21-23. So an Aug. 1, 15, and sept.5 date is still possible

Im starting to think that OP might be right about this. I called two stores just now and the first said that he didn't know officially, but knows that it will be launching in early August. The second store I called I was immediately told there is no information about it, but she too seemed to be acting like she was hiding something. I wouldn't be surprised if it does launch on the first and Verizon is doing a very silent launch for it because of how delayed it is coming out anyway. If memory serves correctly they did almost the same thing with the GNex at its launch, but only time will tell at this point.

*Edit: Also the HTC DNA is sold out on Verizon's website so that could mean something too (not sure for how long it has been listed as sold out tho)

I called the store that owes me a phone at the contract discounted price so they could keep their commission and they told me they just took a web class on the device TODAY. Something is about to happen. I am waiting for this thing and have been for a while now. Love my DNA but want the One even more...... Even if it does come out Thursday, I may not see it until a shipment of them come to my town, but I'm excited.

When the Rezound came out it was a silent launch. No press or nothing, it just popped up on Verizon's website.

For me this is pretty reassuring news, because I'm actually new to this. This is the first time I'm actually able to research phones and choose what I want. I never really paid attention before and was always offered top of the line phones as birthday or Christmas presents so I've never really been familiar with how roll outs work aside from seeing commercials. Knowing a few phones have had silent releases is good news for me considering there's been no advertising for this phone

The DNA is now completely removed from the site from the looks of it rather than showing OoS. Hopefully HTC One shows up Thursday!

What I've been wondering is how they're going to categorize it on the website when it gets here lol. The HTC Droid DNA was grouped in with the Droid phones and it's gone now...and all other phones are grouped by manufacturer. So will there be a single HTC category with the phone sitting all by its lonesome, possibly at the bottom of the page under the Blackberry phones? Lol I'm curious. I guess if anything it'll sit next to the HTC Windows phone and the Incredible under an HTC category, in which case it'll look mighty hefty sitting next to $49.99 and FREE price tags of those phones lol. Poor HTC :/

Yeah, it will likely be in the HTC category with the Incredible and the Windows phone. The only thing that was going to hold me back from getting this is if I was impressed with the Droid Ultra and Droid Maxx. I would've been sold if it had a Snapdragon 800. Definitely don't have interest in another dual core phone.

Cannot wait to get my hands on this phone!

Not that the One (or GS4) aren't great devices, but I have to add it's just in time for the "real" superphones of 2013...

Like what? Every device that is about to be released is rocking 2012 specs. The note 3 is the only thing we know will be a beast. Unless something comes out of left field the S4 and ONE will be the best devices of 2013.

I really hope Thursday is finally the day for my Verizon friends. If I was on Verizon I would buy the ONE again in a heartbeat! It's amazing.

The real question is what will vzw charge? 32gb android phones start at $299 then drop with rebates then a month later drop to $199. If vzw sales at $299 that would b crazy. Every one else has them marked down at end of life prices $99 or lease. Move old stock for new models. Going to be interested.

$300 would be ridiculous, but this is Verizon we are talking about. I really hope its $100-$200. I'm sure it will be about $200 though. Its $200 on both AT&T and Sprint right now, but I have seen them at $100 or less in the past.
