No, the text bug is fixed in Gingerbread. It's even right there in the changelog...

So am I to understand that the SMS send-your-text-to-the-wrong-person bug is still in this update? I have used GoSMS and still have this problem. I don't want to text anyone anymore.

If this is the case, can someone tell me what version of GB solves this problem so I can join those of you who are going to "Root and ROM"?

I've only experienced the sms bug on 2.2. I've tried many 2.3 roms and have not experienced the sms bug. Not saying it doesn't exists, just saying with my experience I didn't have that issue. Also, I used the stock sms app when using 2.3 roms. Currently I'm on Team Bamf's Son of a Bliss rom. Works great!

Why wait? Just root now. Bamf is coming along nicely with their 3.5 sense ROM and bamf forever is phenomenal.

trust me been looking into it. just gotta learn the whole rom things. i no there is auto root for tbolt which makes it what i hear a one click process. but yea i heard about bamf an seen nice things.

The jury is still out for me and the sms bug. Twice I've sent a text.to the wrong person. This time it was from me getting a text from someone, replying to that someone, only to find out the original text.I got had switched to a different person. The difference this time is both times it said the text was from someone I didn't yet have a message thread open with. It just randomly selected someone from my phone book

We don't always agree but I do agree on this issue. Froyo is pretty stable except for all the data drop issues and I've never read anywhere that gb will cure data dropping. I guarantee this new gb will introduce still more bugs.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE ROOTED....BUT...and this is a big BUT (like J. Lo big).....it will lock your bootloader so you can't go back to stock. But, from what I have seen, there is already a unlocked bootloader out there.

I have been attempting to force the issue. MR2 had it bad. Under 2.11.605.0 hasn't had it yet..... Feel like I've been hoarding SMS's.... If .3 has issue it's no upgrade.

It's not live yet. They usually release the changelog a few days before they start pushing it out.

We should see if by Friday for sure but probably a little sooner.

there's very minimal differences from .0 to .3

not even worth the upgrade unless you'd like to try out different radios. I prefer the .0 radios to .3 anyways
