Verizon LTE outage

Looks like 4g came back on about 1:30am in So. Cal, at least in the O.C.

Tweet from Verizon Wireless about 10 minutes ago:
4G LTE up and running. Thank you for your patience.

Back up in Warren MI (Metro Detroit).
Gonna keep on the new LTE and CDMA radio.
better signal indoors at work then I've had in the past.
Just went 24 down and 5.8 up....wowser!!!

4G goodness all morning in Tampa Bay area!!

5.9 down and 3.1 up :)

Well that's frustrating. I'm in Tampa and getting 1x still. I can't figure out how to get out of it and now I'm worried there's something wrong on my end. I have turned 4g off and on, restarted, turned mobile on and off. Nothing seems to shake it. I'm running Das BAMF 1.5 and JuiceDefender but I've changed nothing about these recently and I do get 1x so radio is working. Maybe I'm just in an unlucky part of Tampa?

Update: I have 3G at least just after posting this. First time all day. Thank God at least for that. 1x is a form of torture.

I am in Orlando FL and still on 1x. Rebooted, turned off radio/back on, no dice. Is there something else I can try to bring it back?

Yep....just wait is what I'd say.
If I reboot my phone in my office, I can not get 4G. With the stock radio or the new radio.
No matter how long I sit here.
If I reboot it outside and it connects to 4G and passes data up/down, I can sit back at my desk and it works just fine.

Wait...that's all I can tell you...

Well, it's all good that I got 4G back, but anyone else notice it is a fraction of the speed it was? granted it might just be this way while the still work out the kinks...

I have noticed my speeds being way slower. I was getting 2-3 mbps down and 1 up today where I was always getting 15-25 down before the outage.

Still on 1x service in Richmond VA. Sometimes i get 3G but the majority has been 1x.

Richmond is not a LTE service area and I have changed the modem settings.

Me too, Columbus area, used to get 10-15 mb/s up, and around 5 mb/s down, now only get 1 mb/s up but still around 4 mb/s down. Verizon I want my 4GGGGs back.

Guys, seriously. They just had their entire network go down and you're complaining about speeds? No !@#% they're slow for now. It would be stupid and reckless to bring the network back online at full capacity right away. What if it crashed and burned again? The risks for doing that outweigh the immediate benefit.

We're all early adopters; stuff like this is going to happen, and its the price we pay for being on the bleeding edge.

What seemed strange to me was I don't live in a 4G area at all, and when LTE went down my phone got stuck on 1x. I would have thought since there was no LTE here anyways that my phone would have been fine.

Well, the Bolt is programmed differently. Everything's run off the SIM and the SIM interacts with the 4G systems (even if you don't have 4G). So if those systems are down, it wouldn't matter if you're only on 3G. Its probably more complex than what I'm explaining, but that's basically what it is.
