Verizon modifies data plan structure - 6GB cost the same as 10GB now

Aaaand the promotion is over for the extra data. Back to normal rip off pricing

now it appears to me data plans over 15 GB is really expensive. 20GB = 150 and 30 GB =$225. Are these prices correct?

And how much for the voice and text plan to go with it? Go ahead, let's compare...

I know you were not asking me, but you can't assume people on unlimited data are paying more for it.
I have 3 lines. 2 smartphones both with unlimited data, and 1 basic (dumbphone) line.

1400 shared "anytime" minutes. Unlimited minutes to all Verizon phone numbers, unlimited minutes nights and weekends, and unlimited calling to 10 "Friends and Family" numbers. My last billing cycle we used 55 of those 1400 anytime minutes, the rest were covered by the other categories. So switching to unlimited calling minutes does nothing for me.

Unlimited txt on all 3 lines.

Unlimited data on both smart phone lines. I used 17GB on my line last month and my wife used 6GB. The basic line is used by an older parent who doesn't want a smartphone.

Total bill before taxes: $127.95

AND I get 2 year upgrade pricing whenever I upgrade my smartphones (we get 3 upgrades every 2 years). Current plans cannot even come close to what I have now.

I also have that 1400 minute plan with 2 UDP lines. How do you go about getting subsidized pricing on your UDP lines?

There is a giant thread that is always near the top of this Verizon sub forum on how to keep your unlimited data and get subsidized phones. Impossible to miss...

I understand all the work arounds. Seems like the implication is that his is guaranteed.

Wrong. If you get more people, the plans just get better.

I manage a More Everything plan with 8 lines right now. We all have smartphones(~$45/month including tax and fees for a total of $360), and are currently sharing 30GB of data ($130/month) for a grand total of $490/month, or $61.25 per person per month. But wait! There's more! Our upgrade pricing through EDGE gets us MOST phones for free (EDGE plans are usually $25/month or less except for the very high end phones, and with 10GB of shared data or more, you get $25 per month off the line access fee).

Sure - I have to give the phone back to them when I am ready for a new device (which I also won't have to pay for), but I never paid anything for it to begin with, so who cares!

For someone who knows they want to stay on Verizon and knows 8 or 9 other responsible adults who would also like to stay on Verizon - it's a total no brainer. You actually get your price per line down to (or lower) than the individual T-Mobile plans but without the dreadful network coverage and hideous magenta branding.

And of course, the 20% off data corporate discount makes this even more sweet for me (I actually only pay $106/month for the 30GB - shhhh).

I have a 700 shared minute, 3 smartphones (UDP, 4GB, 2GB) 1 basic phone. Never went over minutes, use Google voice to text (basic phone refuses to text) for $170 something a month, after discount. If I went with more everything, I would lose the corporate discount and end up with 2GB to share at the same price as what I have now.

Wrong?? I'm not saying the unlimited data plan is right for everyone. I'm just saying you are wrong if you think the more everything plans are right (cheaper) for everyone too.

I have no desire to go find 5-6 other people to rope into my cell phone plan to manage every month. Between my 2 smartphone lines I average 20-30GB of data every month. You have a 30GB limit for 8(!!!!) lines. There is no way in hell that low of a limit would work for me.

I always get the "very high end" phones. I get to keep my phones (or sell them). I get 3 upgrades across 2 lines every 2 years.

Breakdown my lines pre-tax-
Basic line: $9.99
Smart phone lines (x2): $58.98
Total: $127.95

That's cheaper than your smartphone lines ($61.25), not even accounting for the fact that I absolutely would have to pay a lot more for a higher limit data plan. Long story short, there is no way a more everything plan comes even close to the price I'm paying for my current lines and needs. Not even close. 2 smartphones + 1 basic line, 30GB a month = $275 a month with Edge.

Which should I pay? $127? or $275? Even the 15GB promo plan is $150 month!!
