Verizon "Return"?

I bought the Note 7 in August and returned it in early September after the first recall. I ordered a replacement Note 7 on September 22nd I believe and when the 2nd recall happened, I called Verizon and went to the iphone 7plus. The rep with Verizon said to take the Note 7 to a corporate store to return it. I live 20 miles from the store and never go in that direction, so I haven't taken the 2nd Note 7 back yet. I just got an email from Verizon thanking me for returning the device and confirming my refund. But the Note 7 is still sitting on my kitchen counter at home. I verified the email references the 2nd Note 7 order number and IMEI.

Anyone else have this happen? Would you keep the Note 7 if Verizon thinks you have returned it?

Keeping it is still illegal (they actually own it now - and not returning it to Samsung is going to cost them one return amount), but you have the email saying that you returned it - so it depends on your honesty.

How would you like a customer be dishonest towards you if you were a retailer owning your own business? Return the device It's the right thing to do you won't be able to use it. Eventually it will be discovered and you could be charged retail value of the Note7

That would be considered selling a recalled product and that's illegal.

I also got an email today saying I returned my device. I still have it though. Kinda weird.

I have been refunded through Verizon and never personally got any notification whatsoever that I'm required to send it back. Now, they have sent notifications saying they "strongly encourage" me to shop online and process an upgrade in order to receive the special return box, but never said I absolutely must do that (or else). I opted to reactivate my previous phone instead and never heard anything else from verizon about it. They have not sent any instructions on how to process the return after reactivating an old phone, nor is there any information posted on their website. This is the only instructions listed on the faq about returning a Note 7 note 7 faq 1.pngnote 7 faq 3.pngnote 7 faq 2.png So until they can provide me with instructions or threaten to charge me for hanging onto my Note, I intend to keep it. Not sure how they can legally charge me for a recalled device anyway.

My wife and I upgraded our 2 Note 7's to S7 Edge's on Oct 15th. We've been waiting for our Samsung return boxes ever since. Yesterday I got this email from VZW. Both phones are still sitting powered off on my nightstand. Not sure what's up.

Verizon "Return"?

I still have my note 7 from release day and apparently they are now sending me the fire proof box as they sent me a tracking number. I've just basically watched and read about how it was all playing out and was planning on keeping the note 7. Previously they had credited my account for the note 7 being returned and of course it hadn't yet been returned. I paid for it on a subsidy with my credit card, but they credited the amount back to my account instead...Now the credit has disappeared and I have the replacement box on the way. I have reused the upgrade on the pixel XL which I have not received yet.. i'm pretty sure if I do keep note 7 though they will charge me the full price despite the fact I only pay the 299+ fees.. so regretfully I'm sending it back once I receive the pixel XL..

Also does anybody know what this is is ..it showed up in my order history.. along with an invoice. I think I may have seen something similar in another post ? somebody else getting the same thing? wondering if it has something to do with the note 7 fiasco,I have no clue.?

Re: Verizon "Return"?

That's the fireproof box. I have one on my account "processing" as well since I called in and asked where the heck it was.

I had taken my Note7 to the store two days prior official notice. They took the N7 and I have a Note5 32gig I am showing my 64gig is on order and am not being charged for a device until I receive the 64 gig. They refunded what had been paid towards the Note7 as well as all the accessories. I kept the fast charger and the Mophie charger.

I got auto-refunded as well. And my email came in Spanish, so I had to check if it was spam. Sure enough, I called Verizon to confirm and it appeared that I am being refunded. I needed to make sure I was still eligible for the $100 credit. I plan to stick with Samsung once the Note 7 goes back (Blue Coral S7 Edge).

Mine is still on my account also and they want me to pay it and then get a bill credit in up to 3 billing cycles. I told them NO. So when they threaten me with late charges and turning off my service do I threaten them with a lawsuit to sell a recalled device?

Stop the lawsuit nonsense. We have enough of that in this country. You have no case. The phone wasn't recalled when they sold it to you.

However they made it impossible to return. Being a recalled device, they need to take it back and refund the equipment cost.

If you cant return it, they need to get the refund done anyway. My account was credited more than a week ago. I just got the box and sent back the phone but they credited me before the phone was even shipped.

I'm still waiting for the $35 refund fee and $25 Samsung credit im owed. Tired of fighting
