  • 1:21 AM CST on Tuesday (early morning)....Tapped the Check for Updates and there was one available....Gingerbread is being downloaded (as I type) on my Droid X2. Doesn't look like I will be getting much sleep tonight. :)
  • 1:32 Update Download Complete...
  • 1:33 Install Update 1.2.232.en.US ("Do you want to install" message says could take up to 7 minutes)
  • 1:40 Looks like install completed and DX2 is estarting -- the got the DX2 Startup Screen (RedEye) --good sign (knock on wood.)
  • 1:43 "Slide to unlock phone" screen...looks like I am in.

    Gotta go. :)

Just got the update ota.I'm in montgomery,al. Dl'd at 2:35 am cst. Running great ,:Dswype is so much better. Alot faster and smoother. Quadrant is finally showing 2 cores. Get the gingerbread while it's hot!

Just got it yesterday and I must say, so far so great. This is the way the DX2 should of come right out of the box.

Just searched for update via system tools>update and voila there it was. 15 Min total over wifi. Keyboard is fast. Much nicer looking altogether. Che k for updates everyone

Just got the update myself around 7am EDT. Took about 20 minutes to download and another 10 to install. It's great so far. Seems much more stable and less laggy. Scrolling between screens is quicker and apps launch faster. So far, so good.

Wahooo finally downloading:D. Its available through the settings ---> about phone etc. Will update if I get a clean install and hopefully review!

Been using it since the soak test started guys, its awesome, don't skip on it. And for the love of god do not run a Quadrant benchmark, unless you do 5 or 6. But you should notice some considerable improvement in games- especially Dungeon Defenders, Galaxy on Fire 2, Pocket Legends, and even Gun Bros.

I have yet to have a random reboot, The night I got it, I had to reboot it once, and since then everything has been awesome.

Forewarning- stock launcher on this thing sucks still, so use an alternative home like Launcher Pro, Go Launcher, etc.

And live wall papers work much better now :).

Ginger for me thus far;

Widgetlocker now seems to work smooth, I like that being that I had to pay for it, it had a horrible lag with Froyo (not that it was Froyo's fault), havent noticed anything else thus far other than different icons and the blue in the notify area which doesnt mean anything to me. I'm still very happy with my DX2, as I have been since launch!

The copy and paste is much better, smoother and more responsive keyboard, no more lag anywhere. After about 5 hours of usage i have yet to find any problems at all.

I installed the update this morning. No problems today at all. No slow to open things . now lag that I can see right now. I'm a happy camper with my DX2 at the moment :)

Glad they finally put it out there for us to download. :D

Updated this morning without any issues. Certainly smoother and faster. X2 continues to amaze!

Boot into android recovery, do a factory reset/data wipe and you should be all set. the error is normal

Having the same problem, and doing the reset/data wipe doesn't solve it. Update fails using this method and OTA. Phone was rooted but I did unfreeze bloatware and unroot before attempting. Suggestions anyone?

Just got the it this morning in Minnesota...have not played around yet...

camera does go faster and icons look sleek
