Verizon vs T-Mobile

Verizon doesn't have the unlimited plan anymore. I would want to keep that. T-Mobile sucks. I had full signal bars on the phone and the 4g didn't work. Kept on freezing. Verizon is the best network with the best coverage. People pay $100's for 8gb of data. You have unlimited under $100. Count yourself lucky. You can also switch anytime. When I had T-Mobile they kept on limiting me. I used the wireless hotspot for over 3gb of data each month for almost a year. Then they sent me a text saying that I had 200mb of hot spot data each month. They just changed it in the middle of a contract. Save your self the trouble. I had to switch to Verizon due to that.

T-mobile works great in Honolulu.

Doesn't u can spend $50 for one month of service on T-Mobile to test it out.

Ain't nobody got money for that.

To original poster...You are giving up a unlimited line on vzw? Call me crazy but I would love to have that! Keep that no matter what! Its not something I would give up easily. Once its gone its never coming back!

I know but Verizon is expensive. I don't want to shell out $120 a month to them. T-Mobiles plan go $90 or less. That difference could be gas money or bus fare.

They are still cheaper. I'll deal with bad service once in a while for a cheaper plan. All this money to Verizon just for unlimited data is not worth anymore.

Just test it out.if you can get similar signal/service for half the price then why not do it

How would you test it out? I'm not going to deal $30-50 just to test something out.

If you really want to leave Verizon, at least you can port out to Tmobile and then sell your Unlimited data line for some dough.

That's your own fault then. $30-$50 for one month of service to see if u can save money is well worth it.

Can i sell my unlimited data (AOL) even if I'm Month-to-month????

You can always find a friend or family member who has tmo, they maybe willing to let you borrow their phone for a short time

I mean you are asking for a handout or something. Go buy a phone and a plan and test it out.... They give you a few days to return for full return price. Just ask as you buy but you're going to have the shell out some money to try it... It's how the world works. Shouldn't be anything new.

Verizon charges a $35 restocking fee for returning phones and a $36 activation fee which can be refundable if canceled within 3 days , does tmo charge?

Yes they do. That adds up just to be trying something out. I'm just switching then since I can't get a real answer here. I have my eye on the Xperia Z and BB Z10.

It's hard to give an answer since we all live in different areas... You'd have to find someone in your area with the service. I mean if you want opinions I can say it's great for my area (Jacksonville). I get the speeds below around town and indoors. This is LTE / HSPA.

I don't have the funds to just test drive something like that. That's why I'm waiting till my contract ends, so whatever decision I make is permanent for a while.

You really can't afford not to if you end up on a carrier you can't use and loose unlimited data on VZW if you end up having to go back. Go to Walmart and get a prepaid SIM and 30 prepaid card for $40 and try the $30 5gb and 100 minutes plan.

If u are coming from unlimited data than I can say that the 30$ plan might not be enough. I say get the 70$ unlimited everything plan still unlimited and way cheaper and no contact.

I meant for trial purposes. You can switch to the actual unlimited plan when and if you actually port your number in.

If you port, your VZW line gets cancelled. You can only sell the line if it's active which means you will be selling your phone number too.

Which I don't want to do. I'm keeping my number. I'll just deal with T-Mobile. Their coverage from what I have researched is pretty good in Atlanta. If that's true then I'll be in store within a couple weeks. Losing unlimited with Verizon is not worth a $120 hole in my pocket. Especially when I don't use over a couple hundred minutes a month taking and use 2000 or less messages. Sounds like its T-Mobile for me then.
