Very unhappy with fingerprint sensor

Yeah I was looking for the power button on the right the first few days, but I got used to it quick. I'm having a hard time with the fps though. Im looking at the fingerprint on the screen but I still reach for the back. Lol

I keep pressing the power button thinking it's the volume down switch...duh?!?

I disabled all AOD functions via PD(to remove charging notification when sceeen is off)

I was tempted to do this but I like the features AOD brings.

So instead I downloaded a black wallpaper and saved that in it's own gallery folder.

Then in Settings, display, wallpaper I went to the photo frame option and chose the folder with the black wallpaper in it.

Now when my phones display self times out while it's on charge the black wallpaper kicks in and no more on screen battery % shows.

I'm honestly surprised that some people are actually having a good experience with it. Until reading this I thought it sucked for everyone. Mine is so awful I actually started using facial recognition for unlocking on my S10.

Mine works pretty well. Now about as good as my Note 8. I followed the recommendation of registering the same fingerprints twice. Since then it works fine for me. I do think the placement on the front screen is stupid. The back location was much more practical.

Mine is horrible with a glass protector over it. Don't know why they don't just use the same that was in the note 9. It was definitely easier and better

Back fps suck. That is why Samsung moved out if the 20th century with the note10+ with a screen one. Mine is flawless.

I posted this in the other FPS thread. People are saying that they think it's faster. And for the record, I prefer this FPS over one on the back (had a Note 8 prior to this). I like I can unlock it with my finger without even picking it up when it's on my desk at work. Anyway, here's the tip.

I did this, and although the FPS isn't lightening fast I was thankfully not having much of a problem with it recognizing my print. Still, I could see a change doing this.

With that said, afterwards in this thread I read about turning off the transition effect and weirdly I cannot see a bit of a difference between it toggled on/off. Could be a number of things, like already following the first tip or perhaps because I already have all animations reduced, maybe since I am running Nova pro... not sure.

I guess the good thing is, one of the tips worked and improved the time for me - cool :)

That's what makes it superior to a rear fps. I love not having to pick up the phone if I don't want to.

I'll try this although my experience is pretty good.

Does this have any negative impact on optimising all apps ?

My GPS on the S10 worked much, much better once I removed the preinstalled plastic screen protector. I installed a new TPU protector and my fingerprint success rate is about 97%+ now.

Coming back to Samsung Note (10+) from Google Pixel, I am seriously missing the fp sensor on the back along with the accurate and lightening speed authentication. I had to
wait 30 seconds after multiple fails. Inexcusable! Samsung, please catch up!
