Very unhappy with fingerprint sensor

Same. On the S10 you could quick tap the screen to bring up the indicator so that you knew where to place your thumb but no such option seems to be available on the note 10 sadly , although its a minor issue to be fair

If you have AOD on a person can elect to tap twice on the screen which invokes the fps.

My fingerprint registers almost 95 percent of time, I use face lock along with it and that's super fast. I dont care it's less secure as my phone is with me mostly .

Mine isn't perfect , but it works a majority of the time. My only real issue is I still want to unlock from the back of the phone.

Isn't it amazing how muscle memory works !

Coming from the Note 9 myself I have this.

However I've now come to remember the power off button is on the left hand side of the phone so happy days.

I have face recognition plus fingerprint on and no issues at all opens very fast. Fingerprint alone is too slow for me.

FPS is definitely disappointing compared to my 1+7P. I've enabled the facial recognition which is so much faster. I know I will have to use the FPS at night when light source is too low for the facial unlock.

This is still a learning curve for me on my new Note 10+. I get far too many error messages of no match, keep finger on sensor longer, press a little harder. On my S9 phone, the rear finger print sensor worked almost 100% of the time.

The only advantage of the Note 10+ finger print sensor for me is when the phone is charging via cable and resting on my desk. I can simply place a finger on top of the screen to open the phone which usually works okay (versus taking phone out of my pocket which is more problematic). With my S9 phone, I had to physically lift the phone off the desk and place finger at back of the phone sensor which is more effort.

Registered the same finger 4 times and the fps worked Everytime.
I just don't use it.

I'd rather have it on the back.
Lift to wake works excellent. I've been using this since day 1.
Hang in there.

I have registered both my left and right thumb while holding the phone in the position when in use while typing THEN put the phone on my desk and registered my left index finger using more of the upper area and tip as when phone is flat your using the tip of finger to poke at home while at desk, in coffee shop etc. works 100% for me. OMG it is not lighting takes a whole second to open. Expectations vs reality are two different things...

AOD will help with that. If you double tap the clock when AOD is active you can set the brightness of the AOD display. Your FPS will adjust as well.

I disabled all AOD functions via PD(to remove charging notification when sceeen is off)

Check out this video at 4:18 mark. Go to Biometrics preferences and turn OFF Screen transition effect. This will make it faster to log into phone using fingerprint scanner. I tried this and it appears to really work better!!

Seriously!! Turn off "Screen transition effect"!! My finger print scanner works faster and more effectively now!!

That can't be possible! You have a Note 10+ ?

yeah, but mine is unlocked and not carrier, AND I have disabled a bunch of Samsung stuff. they tend to tie things together so it's probably something I disabled. I don't use fps anyway but wanted to check the setting.

Yeah I was looking for the power button on the right the first few days, but I got used to it quick. I'm having a hard time with the fps though. Im looking at the fingerprint on the screen but I still reach for the back. Lol

With the power button on the left side, I often find it difficult sometimes to take screen shots.

Alas, I digress...
If you have good lock and install navstar you can put the screenshot button on your navigation bar. It's the best thing ever.
