We're not sure what the real plan is.
We do because he said it plain as day. When you upgrade, they will force you onto the new plans.

Nope. This takes effect when you sign a new contract and does not affect you until your current one expires.

Is it just me, or has Verizons network been slow and crappy at times....
Crack the code, people:
If you have unlimited LTE data on your phone, why install FIOS at home? Especially as home phones disappear and people are starting to cut cable TV.
So Verizon is now competing with itself -- while at the same time having to buy more broadcast spectrum to continue to expand LTE.
If they keep people suckling data from both the Verizon and the Verizon Wireless teats, they make twice as much money. So now they have this juggling act to maintain.
At the same time, they did make $1.7B profit last fiscal year and are just getting bigger... how much is enough, V?

That's the other thing I was thinking of. Just cancel the data portion of the plans. Use just the minutes on the phone. When you are at work or home with Wifi or one of the multitude of hot spots around use Wifi and just drop mobile data all together. Personally I use it at work communicate with the other techs with gtalk. We can do that fine with Wifi and same with email.
Reposting what I said in another thread like this since its relevant and multi threads are going for this:
Reading the text of the press release it only looks like this is affecting those on 3G unlimited trying to go to 4G unlimited. Didn't read that those already on 4G are on the chopping block just yet but those on the 3G bandwagon are in for a shock if they aren't on 4G by the time this hits. I'm not going to freak out just yet being on 4G unlimited already but my wife who is on 3G unlimited I may need to keep an eye on what happens for her. Luckily she isn't a power user so I doubt it would be that painful for her.
