Want To Be Eligible to Upgrade to The E3D ... Just Email Sprint

Call and talk to them. My wife wasn't due an upgrade till April first of 2012, called them, talked to a Rep, now she got her upgrade. Fortunately she just got the evo as her rumor touch died on her and needed a phone asap.

Return the evo within 30 days and get the 3D

Just call 1 877 775 4886 and ask for a manual upgrade override. It will show in your account in within 20 minutes.

Thanks for the excellent number, however i wasnt eligible for the one year upgrade until july 1st since the evo was sold out in my market until then. The rep i talked to seemed very concerned and is calling me on july 1st to do everything he can to get me the phone.

EDIT**

btw what is that number for?

After reading this thread, I sent off an e-mail to the "upgrade" address this morning. Not knowing when I may, or may not, hear back from Sprint I then decided to send another e-mail to the "Sprint Cares" address. No longer than an hour passed and I received a reply from the "Sprint Cares" address just asking for my account PIN so that they could access my account and look into the upgrade. After another hour or so passed, I received an e-mail back saying that I was getting the upgrade.

So, the moral of the story is that by using the original e-mail address for customer service I was able to take care of the situation within hours instead of waiting on some kind of a response for a new address that may, or may not, yield results.

By the way, I wasn't due for my upgrade for another year.

Thanks alot ! I emailed sprintcares@sprint.com right after I read your post earlier. Got an answer within 30 minutes , also included my pin to save time. This was the reply I got :

Thank you for your inquiry. Based upon specific circumstances your account currently qualifies for eligibility reset. As of today you
are fully eligible for an upgrade on 330-XXX-XXXX.
Thank you,
*Chris

I wasn't eligible for upgrade till 04/01/2012 before I emailed them, now my sprint account says I've been fully eligible since 06/01/2011. I emailed the upgrade restore address last night and got no reply all day. Anyone else should def use the sprintcares email.

I'll be 3D'n it friday morning on my day off. Preordered at Best Buy on May 3rd. I'm in there !!! Thx again

Direct line to some sort of upgrade department. LOL
I'd call them on July first.

That was most certaintly in my plans (if he actually doesnt follow through, which im pretty optimistic about him calling me) he was putting me into his datebook and then i heard him vigorously typing notes into his computer, he also told me if i really wanted i could order the phone now at full price with no upgrade and return it when i get my upgrade established and order it then. And thats exactly what i did about 15 minutes before i called him lol.

SprintCares Works

It looks like SprintCares is the way to go (at least for now). I never got a reply from the "UpgradeRestore" address, but SprintCares replied and granted my wish.

Redacted quote below:

Mr. Xxxxxxxxxx:

Thank you for providing the below-referenced information. After careful consideration, we have agreed to allow you to upgrade phone line (xxx) xxx-xxxx, with the available discounts and rebates in exchange for a two-year Subscriber Agreement, effective immediately. Please understand that this is a one-time courtesy and no further exceptions will be made for this matter. Also, based on your current Sprint Premier Silver status, once you upgrade your phone, you will not be eligible for upgrade with full discounts again for 22 months. You can systematically have your account updated to reflect Sprint Premier Gold status by changing your service plan to one with a minimum monthly service charge of $89.99 for individual lines. Our Sprint Premier Gold tier allows customers to upgrade their primary line of service every 12 months and all secondary lines of service can be upgraded every 22 months. You can see all benefits and qualifications for our Sprint Premier program at Sprint | Premier.

Thank you,
SprintCares

I checked my account, and sure-enough it's been adjusted to the $150 discount. Now I'll wait for the smoke to clear (You "bleeding-edge" early adopters can field-test it for me. Haha!) before I order mine.

Thats sweet; I hope they are still feeling generous for me; I sent them the email about 11a and heard back quickly asking for my pin

Still waiting for my second response from Sprint giving me the good or bad news...

update - i was just denied; bummer

I didn't get a response from the "Upgrade..." e-mail address. I did call the 877 number and spoke to a very nice lady, but got a response that I haven't heard yet on this thread. My "full upgrade" is currently scheduled for 4/1/2012, and I was one of the people put into Premier Silver, but she said I could get that 4/1/2012 date moved to today if I pay $105. It looks like on this board that other people have gotten this courtesy for free...anybody have ideas on why I'm different? Should I just keep calling back until I get the answer I want? :)

Thanks!

Guys my problem is that the sales rep when I call said I call ONLY get the full upgrade through them because their supervisor needs to approve of it right their and I have to pay $200 then. I wanted to go into Target and trade in my current evo for a final price of $50 for the evo 3d. Has anybody been able to get the full upgrade and use it anywhere they want?
