Want To Be Eligible to Upgrade to The E3D ... Just Email Sprint

Just emailed the sprintcares address. Will probably be told the same thing that the agent told me on the phone, but figured it's worth a shot.

I didn't get a response from the "Upgrade..." e-mail address. I did call the 877 number and spoke to a very nice lady, but got a response that I haven't heard yet on this thread. My "full upgrade" is currently scheduled for 4/1/2012, and I was one of the people put into Premier Silver, but she said I could get that 4/1/2012 date moved to today if I pay $105. It looks like on this board that other people have gotten this courtesy for free...anybody have ideas on why I'm different? Should I just keep calling back until I get the answer I want? :)

Thanks!

An update on my own situation -- this morning I got an email from the "UpgradeRestore" address completely taking care of the issue (and not charging the $105 that the folks on the phone wanted me to pay). So, sounds like try a couple of different methods everybody...you might get different answers!

Alright, heres my story.

Called the number yesterday, they approved it. Got up this morning, and the upgrade still hadnt gone through yet. Called it back and was told it was denied cause i only signed up last july. But the reps from last night noted the account that they aporoved it. So they still honored the upgrade. Got my evo 3d now and i love it.

Finally got a response from the upgrade email address saying they would look into it for me

Re: Want To Be Eligible to Upgrade to The E3D ... Just Email Spri

Got a email back just now...

"For a limited time, we are granting a one-time exception to eligible Sprint Premier Silver customers, who would have received an annual upgrade on their primary line of service in June 2011, prior to the Premier changes that took place in April of this year. Our records indicate that telephone (678) ***-**** was upgraded in January 2011; therefore, this line would have been eligible for an upgrade in January 2012. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide an upgrade exception prior to the previous 12-month eligibility date. Therefore, we must respectfully decline your request for an early upgrade."

I called the # again and explained to the agent what I was trying to do, so he transferred me to his supervisor. She told me she couldn't do it, then I said well I' ve been with you guys for almost ten years and Im trying to sign up for two more years today, but come 2012 I now may take my businesses elsewhere. This lady told me if I wanted to cancel my account she could transfer me to the account department right now.

Really?

Re: Want To Be Eligible to Upgrade to The E3D ... Just Email Spri

I just sent an inquiry to both addresses. I'll let you know!

Would try and have radio shack call in for me, but I want to put my 4G on ebay to pay for the 3D. Only problem is that if they deny the radio shack employee, I would be without a phone lol.

Seems like most ppl are having luck where they were suppose to get the upgrade THIS year either this month or next if they were still on gold.

im in this boat.

my full upgrade was to be on 7/1, but not since the switch to premier silver, its only half the upgrade and i dont qualify till 5/21/12 for the full 150.

so i emailed both, we will see if i get a response.

in the end we have to pay 300 out of pocket to get the phone instore anyways correct?

I walked out the door paying $50+ tax. I got the $199 upgrade price (via SprintCares--Yes, I had a year left on my contract.) plus instant rebate (no more mail-in rebates), and I traded in my EVO 4G for an extra $150.

It was too good a deal to pass up.

This phone is FAST! :)

Wow very nice.
I didn't realize the rebates were instant now.
When did this change?
I got rid of my evo for a epic but I'll be able to sell it for 150-200 easy.

this was started maybe in March or April (advertised on their website) and it was supposed to end but I think they have let it continue for the sake of what the competittion does. There is always thge possibility of this ending and them going back to the Mail In Rebate but for now take advantage

I just gave it a try. Will update when I hear back.

Re: Want To Be Eligible to Upgrade to The E3D ... Just Email Spri

We just called them while at the Sprint Store and it worked without issues for the phone we picked up today. We just told them the phone we wanted and we needed an early upgrade. They said okay and set it up within minutes.

" Just put your cell number, whatever name is on the Sprint account you want to upgrade, and the date that your upgrade was or would have been available (if not for the program change) in an email and send it off to UpgradeRestore@sprint.com " OR sprintcares@sprint.com

EDIT: Many people are getting a quicker response from sprintcares@sprint.com as an alternative solution ... Try both for good measures.

You can also go into any Radio Shack and they can process a one time upgrade, if you purchase the phone at that time. If you leave the store without a purchase your upgrade will revert to original status.

You can still get at least $100 trade in for your old EVO 4G and I've seen as much as $170.00 on trade.

Just call 1 877 775 4886 and ask for a manual upgrade override. It will show in your account in within 20 minutes.

My wife got screwed out of her full eligibility back when they changed the rules so i called the number above and they reinstated it. We were going to pick our 3d phones up in 4 hours and he called me back before our appointment and said we were all set.
