Warn if S Pen is left behind issue

My Note 20 Ultra is not alerting me if I forget my pen laying around and I've tried everything. I don't know if it's my phone or the software updates that's causing this problem.
Hope someone can help me with this... I don't like moving furniture around at midnight looking for my lost pen. LoL

Don't forget your S Pen
The Note's S Pen is one of its flagship features, but it's also very easy to leave it sitting somewhere, never to be seen again.

Thankfully, if you go to Settings > Advanced features > S Pen and scroll down to the Removal section, you'll find an option called Pen proximity alert. Turn it on.

Now, when you leave your S Pen sitting on your desk, or it falls between your couch cushions and you start to walk away, your phone will beep as you get out of range.

Mine only gives the option to show a warning when the S-pen is left behind. Shows a warning on the screen but no sound.

Hmm that is odd , cause my AT&T Note20 Ultra 5G 512GB Snapdragon does do alert sound and show pop-up warning.

Yeah Jan, I just checked mine and it's doing the same thing... no message/no sound, yet the box is checked! I just sent an "Error Report" under "Contact Us" at the bottom of that settings page! We'll see...

Do you actually get the "Warning Message" Sweetypie, or just the tiny icon at the top of the screen? I still get that... and it goes dark after I get a certain distance away, but we used to get an actual large message box!!!

I still get the message box, the message in the notification panel, and the icon. Just no sound notification.

Got a reply this morning to the effect... "We're sorry you're having this issue but be assured that as soon as an update is available, we'll contact you!" :-!

I am running unlocked on T-Mobile. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Last night it didn't respond to a test. Today I flipped on bluetooth, tested & I did receive an alert.

When my phone does alert, I get the pop-up on the screen, receive an audible sound & the phone vibrates also. I do not see anywhere to adjust these individual alerts but I receive all three. Apparently, my phone thinks I need the extra alert.
(Insert questioning expression here.)

I do wipe the cache partition after every update, but I don't know if that would help this particular situation.

I've been trying to reply to everyone's messages but for some reason it wouldn't let me type anything. I've contacted Samsung and they're sending out a new s pen but I don't think that's the issue, since some of you are having the same problem.
I get no elect that I've left my pen.. I hope the next update corrects this problem.

Thank You! I looked for a setting to clear the spen cache or reset the spen, but didn't see it because the air actions toggle was off.

No I don't get any kind of message or elect. Samsung said it was my pen but don't believe that, they were suppose to see me a new one but still not received it...will see. Lol
I can't remember if it worked when I first got my phone, do you?

Just checked again - I did a reboot w/clear system cache, then used 'mustang's" idea of resetting the spen", then rechecked all spen settings. I then tried the test - still not a hint that I left the pen behind - I even went back and turned on bluetooth like "Berry" stated - still no alarm or indication (other than the tiny icon at the top going gray) that my pen had been left behind? Is there any possibility that "Penup" or "Pentastic" or any of those "Goodlock" Apps could have an effect? I know a good number of you are also running these so it's probably, unlikely!

I'm clueless now just downloaded the new update and was hoping that would fix it, but it didn't. Settings are still the same as well. You know you pay the high dollar price for these phones and half the stuff don't work. Guess I'll have to be careful about leaving my pen around.
