Was your Nexus 7 defective or in Perfect condition?

My nexus 7 is cracked around the edges and also has about a fingernails length above the bezel on the left side. I went by office max and the display had the same thing. I wouldn't be so nit picky if I hadn't bought it simply to replace my Transformer Prime which also had screen lift issues and other quality control defects. I hope they fixed the problem and my unit coming tomorrow is perfect.

Don't wanna jinx myself but my screen is still holding after 2 Days. I won't say for sure that the clamping worked for me but it's looking pretty promising right now. If it holds I could say that my device is perfect as well.

Nexus 7 16Gb from Google Play (UK order delivered from Ireland)

Despite multiple attempts to cancel the order - that never got acknowledged - it was delivered in the 1st batch of UK 16GB orders - in good nick - despite floating around in a large box with insufficient packaging material.

My screen was lifting on the left hand side, did the remove cover and tightened screws. Screen still lifts on the left after a few minutes :(

I've had mine for a while now directly from the Google Play and it's been flawless. No screen lifting or anything.

16 gb purchased from the play store. Out of the box the audio didn't work. I tried both the speaker and headphone jack and couldn't get any audio from either. It's on its way back to Google now, with hopefully a functioning one on the way to me soon.

I've had mines about 3 days. From day one I've had a problem with the power switch not working unless its plugged into a power source.Don't know what to do,hate the idea of sending it back. But I still love this Tablet.:'(

Perfect, out of the box. Starting to feel very lucky!

I purchased three from Sam's Club. Two were fine but one had horrible screen flicker and had to be returned. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the one I bought at Game Stop doesn't have any issues.

Keep the posts coming

These are starting to become quite scary figures, the majority are the screen not being stuck down properly.

Hey Smitjeh, I just wanted to say thank you for your efforts to do with this thread. The results are very informative and important. And you're right about the figures being scary! With only a small amount of data so far imagine how many N7 units are actually defective worldwide! Totally unacceptable!

I ordered my N7 on 6/27/12, received on 7/17/12, 8Gb, no problems at all. Shipped from Google Play store. Central California. N7 Rocks!!!

I have 2 16gb units, 1 is perfect while the other has the screen separation issue. (Both from play store)

To be fair...there's probably a significant response bias here. I'd wager people with defective units are more likely to take the time to post in this thread than those without issues.

Point being...without a random sample, I wouldn't put too much faith in these stats. That said, it's still sad that there are so many defective units in absolute terms.

Mine is working perfect. Got none of the issues mentioned by other people.
