Way too many issues, who's jumping ship once S22 Ultra launches?

Boxy Ultra feel but I like it ...Note days are back]

Thanks for the photos! Looks almost identical in overall size.

FYI - There are about 11 hours 27 minutes left to pre-order and get the pre-order deal. (according to Samsung site)

I wasn't going to bite and my Pixel has behaved for a whole 10 days now but I'm not sure. (last issue was the "freak out")

Anyone who has it going to return their S22U and stick with the Pixel? (jumping back on the previous ship)

I miss call screening and the Google Assistant dictation to voice capabilities... But every time I pick up a Samsung phone the screen just so beautiful to look at LOL... I mean I'm I'm totally happy with the screen on my 6 Pro but nothing like Sammy...

Ultrasonic and lightning fast

Glad to hear.

Did you have any of the Galaxy S21 phones? I presume it's the same as that?

Can't wait for S22U to arrive on Monday. Can finally move away from the Pixel 6 Pro and all of its issues. Just today I had two calls cut out mid way. So frustrating.

I did have the S21U but it was a while ago. Probably no faster than the S21U but night and day vs. the Pixel.

Only the camera is making me hesitate over selling 6 Pro. I think I probably will though, no point having 2 giant phones and I just think the Pixel is flawed.

That's fine with me. Just as long as it's not slower than the S21 scanner. The S21 scanner is lightning fast - legitimately instantaneous where you can just tap your finger and it'll unlock, no pressing/holding required. When I got the P6P, I was so surprised at how bad the fingerprint scanner was, in speed and accuracy, and how it hasn't been improved with months and months of updates. I'm guessing Google just don't care to speed it up.

Depends on how far apart you think the camera from the Pixel and S22U are. Right now I don't really have a properly functioning phone with the Pixel 6 Pro, so even if the camera was mind-blowingly good, it's useless to me because I have had reception issues since December, among other bugs. More than happy to trade all that for a more stable phone with a slightly worse camera (if it is even slightly worse, but comparions I've seen have the two very close with the S22U taking even better portrait mode shots than the P6P).

If your P6P was working fine, then maybe the camera tradeoff isn't worth it, in which case, you're better of selling/returning the S22U. I recall you were actually having lag issues with your S22U weren't you? If that's the case, then maybe the P6P is the better device for you if it's not casuing you any troubles.

For me though, I don't recall having as many issues as I have had with the P6P on any previous phone I've owned. So I'm itching to move on from the Pixel.

For as many persistent problems as you've had with your Pixel, I'd switch too. A phone's primary purpose is obviously a PHONE, after all. But you said you had reception issues, among other bugs "since December". How was it before then?

Zero issues with my Pixel 6 Pro. Keeps getting better! Nothing is perfect, but I can't stand how Samsung screws with the menus and settings. Wife is a long time Note user and would never consider anything else.

My reception was never good. When I first got it in October, it was a bit sketchy some calls would drop, people on the other end would have a hard time hearing me etc. Then the December update dropped and that just completely killed off the phone experience for me. I'd have zero reception for long periods of time, couldn't make/receive calls, and then reception would come back and I could use it again. The January patch fixed what December did and was better than what it originally was on the November patch, but still not great.

I still get call dropouts even now on the February patch. And I'm sure it's not my carrier issue. Right before the Pixel, I had the S21U on the same carrier and never had an issue with calls.

But as you said, with all these persistent issues, I am moving on from the phone. I hope the Pixel 7 improves a lot of these things. Google don't want their Pixel phones or have a reputation for being buggy.

I am convinced that there is a hardware issue either with the tensor chip or radio that cannot be solved via software. The battery drop whilst on cellular just cannot be right.

The jury is still out on the S22U.

Some folks like the oversaturated, look of the screen, but the Pixel screen looks more natural. The S22U is not comfortable to hold relative to the streamlined feel of the P6P. The camera isn't on level with the P6P. But, I have an S-Pen.

The S22U is smooth when scrolling, so is Pixel. The battery life on Pixel is better but my S22U is still learning my habits. The Google messages is really frustrating on S22U, they have removed a couple of features, and yes I am still a beta guy.

What features did they remove on Google messages?

If they can't eventually fix all the issues with Software patches, I'm sure Google knows the next Pixel needs to have any hardware issues completely ironed out well before launch. "Fool me once"...

I didn't listen when I got fooled by the first Pixel. lol :(

This is why I want Huawei back in. OnePlus lost me after 7Pro.

Competition, sadly is dead. :(

After this, it'll be only Apple and Samsung for me.

I'd like to know that too, since I just looked and it has changes to the layout, but can't find any features I would normally use missing.
For me, I can't set a reminder for messages ... I can delay send. Now, I have lost that feature on my Pixel 6 Pro too only to have it return ... so no telling if it's been omitted on the S22U or if it's just messages being flakey on me again.
(I am not running the beta version)
