We've got the LG G3, you've got questions...

1. So, what will happen if I change the icon pack or the ROM? Will they be QHD? Or does it have to be a special ROM or icon pack that says that it's specifically made for that resolution? Since ROMs are going to be specific for the device, I guess they will come by default in QHD, but how is it when it comes to icon packs, if that was the case?

A new ROM wouldn't necessarily have the features the stock ROM has like the keyboard features or the smart notice feature, right? But the camera would always work the same, I mean by using the laser and everything, with stock ROM or another ROM. Is this correct?

2. I don't know how long you've been using the device, but have you noticed any lags? I'm asking this since some people assume that it will lag because of the resolution and processor.

3. How has the battery life been?

Hehe, looks like I won't get an answer; it's OK, no problem

I'm adding one more question though, maybe someday some answer will come :D
=> Are "Magic Focus" pictures re-editable afterward ?

Thank you

Hi all, thank you for this,

Have a few questions,
- Do apps have read/WRITE access to external sdcard ?
- Does it allow to install apps on external SD ?
- Is it able to shoot photo in RAW format (like the ascend P7?)
- Is it able to do REAL long exposure photo (at least up to 8s like oppo n1 ?)
- Is the internal partition unified ? (no 3Gb for apps limitation like on the find7 ?)
- Does it offer FM radio ?

- Is there a way, natively (without root) to have a little smaller nav bar ?

Thank you !

Yeah, I asked about the SD card too, and didn't get an answer either. I think it's worth asking until we get one.

With all the talk of the 801 not being powerful enough for the QHD, how's movie watching and game play? Any Lag or stutter?

That is a kit Kat thing and it's every phone with kit Kat that it effects. .. you will have to root to fix it with folder mount app in market. ... or wait until all other apps are updated to work right with kit Kat .... it was a safety fix from Google

Do you know if there is a difference between the Korean version and the one for the rest of the world?

Or wait for some manufacturer to implement a fix or workaround in their customized Android variant. Which is what we're asking about.

How is the sound output affected when you lay the device down on a table?

Sound comparison test coming along as well? Would absolutely love to see it compared to other flagship speakers. I honestly can't even get a good gauge of things at my local ATT because it's always packed and loud.

Not happening. Reason why Google added the security fix.

Alex,
Can you tell me if the "Settings" menu and sub-menu colors can be changed? For example, instead of a dark-ish font on white background, can this be changed to a bright-ish font on a dark background?

Can you hard reset or reboot with out doing a battery a pull?

Yep

Can the extra 'G' home screen (LG Health screen) be disabled? (Like how HTC allows you to disable blinkfeed)
Yep.

Qi charging comes standard, correct? Just wondering if there is an add on receiver or if it is built in. Looks nice thought, thanks for the review!!
Every unit has the contacts for them. Not every variant comes with the charging back bundled, however. They say this'll vary from market to market.

Does it have the ability to do the nexus style circular folders instead of those godawful skeumorphic style ones on the G2?

The G3 has circular folder icons. You should be able to see them in the video walkthrough we published today LG G3 video walkthrough | Android Central

The SD card writing thing is a KitKat issue. G3 can't write to external storage, same as any other KK device. It can move apps to the SD card though.

Externally, not that I could see. Software + localization will be different though.

The on-screen buttons can be re-colored, but it doesn't look like the menus can be.

In comparing variants with and without the Qi charging back do the backs differ in thickness? Like in the Note 3 the Qi charging back is slightly thicker than the non-charging back making finding the appropriate case more difficult.

No idea. I had like 20 seconds with the version with Qi charging built in. It did't feel substantially different though.

Thanks. Was there any discussion being able to use the laser auto-focus for other applications? Like maybe a laser rangefinder for golfing or perhaps measuring the dimensions of a room?

How about otg support?

What about Smart Notice. Can it be disabled? The thought of my phone reminding me to take an umbrella every time it wakes up here in Seattle makes me reach for the antidepressants. Also, given the LG TV spying scandal, what chances that Smart Notice is sending info back to LG?

You'd be doing a service with the info. All the other pre-reviews just talk about what a feature it is.

How good is the camera (especially in low light conditions) compared to the ones in lumia and sony phones?

Yep any phone with Kit Kat will have the SD card locked down so it doesn't store Apps. The problem is SD cards were designed to move information and it's FAT-32 format doesn't support security permissions in that format that computers use. Now that I am using my phone for stock deals and banking the last thing I want is a free flashlight App that has full access into my Bank's SD folders to pull out my credit card information.

Any chance the USA variants like sprint and Verizon will also have GSM radios onboard like iPhone?

Most of the USA CDMA variants on Verizon (not sure about Sprint) are Global phones so they support most (if not all) of the Global GSM frequencies at speeds up to HSPA+ 42. I don't think they are supporting LTE on any other carriers even if the chip set supports it. I know people have put an ATT sim into a Verizon G2 and it works.
