What are you upgrading from and why?

Man I would love to hear how that Pixel C treats you when you get it. I have Nexus 9 but looking for a reason to jump to something new lol.

Coming from a Note 5, loved the phone but want something i cna tinker with that get sthe latest software . I want to tether my UDP on verizon as well. I have a 6S+ as well, so the size will be fine.

My LG G2 is still going strong. I get outstanding battery life. 1080p is just fine for me. It'll keep me happy until next year when the 820 devices come out.
There's just nothing that is substantially better, in my opinion, that can draw me into a purchase until then.

I'll be coming from an LG G4. I like to switch phones 2 or 3 times a year.
I went from an M8 to a nexus 6 when the N6 first came out.
It was too big (see: wide) for me so went to a Note 4.
Went from Note 4 to S6 Edge in July. I haven't had that much regret since the Galaxy Nexus.
S6 Edge lasted maybe 3 weeks then went to LG G4.
Now just waiting for N6P.
If that doesn't work out we try the Note 5 or Moto X PE.

Jumping from a Nexus 4 (still running Kit Kat because Lollipop horror paranoia) to the 6P

Upgrading from a Note 4, because I dislike touchwiz, I dislike the random freezing, I dislike capacitive buttons and I HATE the back button on the right!

Love my Nexus 4 except for the battery life, which was never that good to begin with and has only gotten worse as the battery aged. But the overall experience has been good enough that I'll stick with the Nexus line and upgrade to the 6P. I'm planning to wait until late November or early December 1) in case Google and/or Huawei offer a holiday discount and 2) so enough people will have one by then that I can make sure it doesn't have any flaws.

Nexus 5 to Moto X PE to Nexus 6P

Ready to move on from the Nexus 5 due to poor battery life and terrible GPS.

Got the Moto X but returning it because the 6P was too good to pass up.

Z3 I really didn't need to and I'm so use to having a waterproof phone now, but I really really miss using stock not only that the 6P has much better hardware not only that but better development. I hope the next phone Google come out with they make it waterproof.

I'm upgrading from the Note 3. Unfortunately, Samsung are too slow with OS updates where I am still running 5.0 here in the UK. I still have the bug where even with full signal bars, I get the "No Network Service" notification.

I am also not a fan of touch-wiz or any type of excessive bloatware on smartphones, so hopefully the Nexus line can provide me with a purer Android experience with good performance.

Upgraded from a 2013 Moto X Pure Edition 64gb to Moto G 2015 (16gb with 2G RAM). The reason for the change is:

- Bigger screen
- Way better battery life
- The touch less controls had issues (intermittent but there, upgrades to apps break things, etc). For my needs the battery life out weighed everything else.
- Cost (Moto G is $219)
- Camera on Moto G 2015 is surprisingly good
- Snappiness. The Moto G is very snappy.

What about iOS don't you like or what about the Nexus is making you come back? Just curious, not trying to sway you one way or another.

I don't dislike iOS. I am just looking for something new. iOS is becoming mundane to me. I have always enjoyed the pure Android experience and the hardware on the Nexus 6P entices me more to switch.

I was coming from an LG G3... but last night I dropped a ratchet while replacing my garage door opener and it landed right in the middle of my screen. Totally unresponsive now so I'm back on my old G2. No sense in paying $150 to have it fixed, so November can't get here quick enough!

For me it was all about power (bigger battery, Doze, fast charging) and finally coming back to the Nexus family for the timely updates. A premium camera (if it really works as well as they claim) is the cherry on top.

I also requested an invite for Project Fi after I ordered my 6P.
Today my status changed from 'evaluating' to '3-4 weeks'!

I completely understand. That's where I'm at right now. If the 6P fails me, I'm sure I'll be back with iOS.

I think some of you are missing that this is the nexus 6p thread. So asking what phone you are upgrading from to the nexus 6p.

That being said I am coming from a bunch of different phones and just hoping that the battery life and camera are what they seem to be because those are my two wants. Had a galaxy s6 ( battery Blegh) Moto X pure ( camera meh). I want it all!

I'm coming from an HTC One M8. Fantastic phone but HTC really f***ed up when they updated it to lollipop and decided to skip what would have been an important bug fix update to prep the phone for marshmellow instead. I had a Verizon Galaxy Nexus back in the day and its nice to see a new premium Nexus phone that I can use on Big Red. Even though the One M8 has been a fantastic phone, I will take Stock android and timely updates over OEM tweaks and buggy software any day.
