Am I the only one considering the official N5x case? When I bought my N5x through project fi they are offering me 50% off any case in the store (along with the $50 google play credit) I think I'll make buy/use my first official case since my Samsung GS3 (I had the bright blue folio case which i got for free in a promo with nfc tags that i still use today).

I think I'll probably go with black. I've always had a hard shelled case. I think it will be a nice change to feel a softer material like microfiber. The micro fiber might wear over time, but I think that's a fine trade off for the better texture and grip-ability. at $34 I would probably not buy it, but for under $18 I'll give it a shot. I've had some cases for my n5 that were so slick that it made me drop my phone more.

I ordered this one for $2 during an Amazon deal of the day. Seems ok. I may never use it but only $2!!!

I'm in love with that official case from google with the fabric back but $35 is a little steep. Does anyone know if you can use the $50 google play credit for pre-order for that? For some reason I remember that those type of promotions couldn't be used for anything other than music, movies, and apps.

That versus case with the brushed metal is looking pretty handsome as well, especially for half the price of the official one from Google and the fact that I'm going to need a few new cables. :'(

I've been using Supcase Unicorn Beattle cases on my last few devices. A few people at my work have started using them too. Because of my job, I have to use a case to protect my phone. If I didn't, my phone would be destroyed within a week. The unicorn beetle cases provide excellent protection with minimal bulk plus they cover up the buttons which is good since my hands are wet quite often when I'm using my phone. Looks like they are available on Amazon for the Nexus 5 X. That is the case I will be getting.

If you ordered your Nexus 5 through Project Fi you get a 50% off coupon for any Nexus 5x case. If you did, check your email, the offer came in a separate email from the N5X order confirmation. I don't think google is offering the same 50%off if you bought through the play store.

I'd be willing to bet that the email in question will be the same for all 5x buyers with that 50% off coupon. We shall see tho.

I'm thinking about that Versus case as well. Depending on how the phone feels, I might get that one. I'm looking at the Diztronic or the Spigen case as well. Not sure yet what I'm going to do. I wouldn't mind the official case either, but that price...

I've just received the Orzly case but I'm not happy with it as there's no cutout for what I assume is the microphone i.e. the small hole between the USB C port and the headphone socket.

I bought a Cruzerlite bugdroid case (blue) and it also doesn't have the microphone cutout on the bottom. That's disappointing. Time to file a return on Amazon.

I got the Verus High Pro Shield when it was $2 on Amazon and it's not bad. I think it adds too much thickness on the sides but it does seem like it offers a good amount of protection.
