The official case is great. You are right about the price being a bit high but IMO it is still a fair deal

I loved it too, but decided to return it because of cost, and it's a little thicker than other case out there. just received my diztronic case yesterday for only $10. it's a very well made. a little thinner, and only $10!

Can anyone comment on the Nexus felt looking cases from the play store? The emerald color is in stock now so I'm tempted.

What do these cases feel like? They look like felt.

Do they add a ton of bulk and/or weight?

It looks like these are back in stock, and there have been several more comments saying that the company contacted them to get them free replacements with the mic hole. I went ahead and ordered one with the assumption that the new batch of stock is either already fixed or will get me in the queue to get a fixed version.

I just got my Cruzerlite case and can confirm that the mic hole is now there - so anyone interested in the Cruzerlite Bugdroid TPU case can be assured that it is now updated with the proper cutouts.

TLDR: Ringke case is great!

I got the Ringke case yesterday. I was lamenting putting a case on because I love how the phone felt. The Verus case is too bulky for me and I'm returning it. The Ringke case is perfect. It feels great and actually makes the phone easier to hold. Additionally, I bought a Spigen magnetic vent mount and the metal plate fits between the case and phone with no problems.

My wife got the Ringke SLIM (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU4802211) yesterday and it is really nice. She got the crystal in order to show off her Ice 5x. It adds some grip that definitely makes the phone easier to hold.

Thanks. I never tried the diztronic.. I might give it a chance.

Just got mine, and overall I'm quite happy with it. Gives the phone a touch more grip and looks pretty nice too.

I'm looking for a slim pouch/sleeve type case with a belt loop. Something like the shocksock (check amazon) or snugg pouch case. I've searched a pretty good bit and seem to come up empty handed. Do any of you ever carry your phones like this? If so, recommendations? Any thoughts as to why there aren't any snugg/compression fitting cases out there with belt loops/clips? I know it seems lazy, but I would like the feeling of not having to unclip a case/holstered phone (think otterbox w/ case) or unbutton/unflip a regular leather type holster. Maybe I'm a solitary consumer, but I would think others would have a desire for something similar.

i started with a Ringke SLIM crystal case, but it was too slippery. Now I'm using a Spigen AIR CUSHION crystal clear case. It has nice grippable sides and is clear to show off my Ice Nexus 5X.

Don't know when it'll be ready for purchase but Ballistic has a 'Tough Jacket' listed on their website. Bulky, but I really like those.

Love the Ballistic case. Had one on my Nexus 4 and snatched this up as soon as it was released for the 5x. After going caseless for a few weeks I thought the bulk of the Ballistic case would bother me, but it hasn't. I really like the feel of the buttons with the case. It might just be I'm so used to the feel from the Ballistic paired with the Nexus 4, but the buttons felt really flimsy without the case.

I've noticed that about the buttons on a couple other phones w/ Ballistic cases too.

BTW, would you happen to have a tempered glass screen protector on your 5x too? I'm wondering if one of those fits under/in the Ballistic w/o any problems peeling off...

i just got the supcase unicorn beetle and im digging it. it does add a little bulk but not as much as an otterbox does.

I got the Bugdroid case from Cruzerlite and it will work fine but what I want is a Seidio case and holster combo, hopefully if the 5x sells well Seidio will make one.

I got the official case from Google and did not like mine. The texture did not quite feel like microfiber to me. It fit well, but I wasn't a fan of the materials or color (Quartz case on Carbon 5x). The back almost looks like a sticker that was slapped on. I got 4 different cases and this one didn't make the cut. I'm going to stick with the Spigen Thin FIt.
