What has Verizon taken away from V20?

Incorrect. I have a Verizon v20 and it does have theme support. Albeit very sparse with only 2 options other than stock. This can be expanded by installing the LG Smart World app apk from the Internet site.
From what Internet site?

So I downloaded and installed the app from LG's site, and there aren't any themes to be found.

This is what I see in the side menu. Do you not have this?
Nope.

I just realized that I have FM Radio on my V20 (T-Mo). One swing through the dial and I remembered why I got Satellite radio.

Is the radio disabled in that the chip is removed, or is it in the firmware? Could this be remedied by rooting or flashing a different ROM?

I'm more bummed about the "in apps" search shortcut. Havent listened to FM radio in years. I was hoping the Google update this morning would bring the In apps shortcut, but doesn't appear so.

I have absolutely no idea... I just wanted to try to install that. Having an FM radio in case of a National emergency on your phone is a good thing, as most of us don't carry around FM radios. If it's disabled, it's a bad thing. If the circuitry is completely removed that's an even worse thing. I I think I'll call Verizon tech support.

Even more strange is that it does indeed work on other phones that are on Verizon...? For example, I have Next Radio on my Note 7...1478276982592.jpg

I think they disable certain things on certain phones to drive people to certain other phones; cripple the V20 to drive people to the uncrippled Pixel or iPhone 7.

They do it to Samsung phones too. I think they put all the available features on a dartboard and each product manager gets to throw one dart. Direct feature hits get removed. That's the only way I can justify this idiotic practice in my mind....... They probably do the same thing for bloatware too, except they use 2 darts per manager lol.

Perhaps Android Central can publish an article on all the missing things? Thats really the only way to get some traction.
