What has Verizon taken away from V20?

You can access it view a regular google internet search, but that is a pain. After searching the web, you have to scroll all the way to the right to find it each time. Very cumbersome. Its just very odd Verizon would not even give the option to add this to the homescreen as a shortcut, which all the other carriers allow.

See below how the app is supposed to allow you to add the shortcut.

Thanks. I had no idea about in apps. Sounds cool. I didn't know you could search your own apps using google either. Im glad I persisted. You had something great to teach me I just didn't get what it was.

Here is an overview by google: https://blog.google/products/search/a-new-way-to-search-for-content-in-your/

You guys may recall, this feature was subject to a big lawsuit between Apple vs Samsung or Google a few years ago. The early Galaxy phones had this feature, and it was very popular. Samsung had to take it off their phones, and everyone was steaming mad. Maybe now they have a work around or paying Apple a patent fee.

Once you start using it, you realize how helpful it is to search for anything on your phone quickly.

I didn't know about it either... I'm glad you persistent :-)

Nobody you get to actually speak to will know the answer. They may guess but not know. Engineers do not work in customer service at LG nor VZW. They won't even speak to customer service people. You could try contacting the CEO. He could ask engineer to speak to you.
I agree, I agree... Although I do think the guy at LG tech support was pretty smart. I think I'm going to try to get one more Verizon tech support call escalated and then go the social media route , in addition to attempting to contact some people perhaps a bit higher up... I kind of doubt the CEO of Verizon is going to talk to some random customer like me :-)

So that's the reason why no one I talk to at BB has a clue when or if they are getting the VZW version of the LG V20 ;)

probably not bur an email to him might be Forwarded to someone in the know

I've been tweeting at LG and VZW to turn on the FM radio. I suggest everyone in VZW do the same..... Repeatedly!

Wow... I want this... have you figured out any way to do this yet??

I thought this page might be helpful to any Verizon customers that would want to skip customer service and get any grievance heard by (?) someone that might actually be able to do something about it.

They will only let you send in 1 communication per day. (When I tried to send the same thing to another exec, I got a msg that my 1st email was being routed and if I had another issue to please wait 24 hours.)

anyway, thought it might be helpful.

I have been talking with LG support for the past few days to get this fixed. It took some back and forth but after pointing out to them that the H910 (AT&T model V20) is not even listed on the SmartWorld website http://us.lgworld.com/ (if you visit the SmartWorld store on your PC and click select phone on the right) they finally said they would look into and I noticed today that the H910 actually appears there.

However the other problem is that several of the themes they have added since launch do not have the H910 listed as a supported device

And Home Theme+ still dose not show up under customization in the SmartWorld app on the AT&T V20, but you can access the section by going to Settings>Themes and taping the download icon, but any themes that that do not have the H910 listed as a compatible device will not show up. I'm hoping this will all get sorted in the next week or two. I plan on staying on them till it gets fixed. It's annoying when they try to blame it on my device and tell me to do stupid things like re install the app :(

Have you folks ever been in a room with Verizon marketing? I have at a hotel where they were also at for off site breakout sessions. They make the stereotype of smug marketing people seem open and sincere. Brilliant in their own minds.

Whats the easiest way to get past the level 1 customer service techs? I want to try to get somewhere with the In App shortcut feature missing. Cant believe its something Google touts for Nougat and the V20, but Verizon took it off. Or are phones are not on the best Google app version. Crazy.

Well, if you go to that link and click on contact under the names of those execs, I think this *might* be one of the better ways to contact someone that can make a difference. I say that because I've asked the agents on tech support calls if they can forward issues/concerns and they have told me more than once they can't... that often their supervisors will look over their logs, and maybe even listen to their calls, but they can't shoot them upward themselves...

And I will also send a communication about the In Apps... WOW that is helpful...
