So I take it you're not on Verizon... It's a good thing to have just to keep you safe in the event of an emergency, because the emergency broadcast system will also broadcast on FM radio. Before this thread I didn't even know the V20 had FM radio. I haven't listened to that in years! I just downloaded NextRadio and set up my old favorite stations. Yea.
Nope, AT&T.So I take it you're not on Verizon... It's a good thing to have just to keep you safe in the event of an emergency, because the emergency broadcast system will also broadcast on FM radio.
That may be it. I'm with AT&T. Still odd, though.Yes, Verizon variant.
If it's just the software, someone could write a patch to enable it.Usually it is just disabled via software.
I really would have liked my home wifi to keep device unlocked.Thething works, but location based things don't work because LG's My Places app is missing.
Hardware is there. VZW disabled it. I honestly don't think they care what we think about it.So I just got off a half-hour phone call with Verizon technical support. I was trying to determine whether the hardware for FM radio was actually missing, or if it was something Verizon disabled. The woman was very interested in helping me but honestly she just could not find the answer and is going to check up on it further. We finally decided that it might be a good idea for me to contact LG and see what they have to say. I'm going to do that now and I will let you all know
LG technical support concurs that the hardware is there. What they don't know is whether they disabled it with software which they might have done, or they have disabled it by physically disconnecting the FM chip set from the motherboard which is also possible. So now I have to go back to Verizon and see if I can get a straight answer. I really do want to know. Someone else in this thread I believe said that the Samsung Galaxy S7 originally came out from Verizon with FM radio disabled as well. Numerous complaints to Verizon prompted them to turn it back on. I guess you don't know if you don't askHardware is there. VZW disabled it. I honestly don't think they care what we think about it.
Nobody you get to actually speak to will know the answer. They may guess but not know. Engineers do not work in customer service at LG nor VZW. They won't even speak to customer service people. You could try contacting the CEO. He could ask engineer to speak to you.LG technical support concurs that the hardware is there. Just use the Google app. Also "In Apps" search shortcut. Still trying to figure out how to get it on my phone like the other carriers.
Use the Google In Apps search function. It can be done directly from the Google app.To do what?

Are you trolling or do you not understand what Google In Apps search is?To do what?
I know what google is. I'm asking what you are suggesting it to be used for? Are we off the fm radio topic now? I'm not trolling. We were talking about fm radio then a post said use google so I asked for what purpose? To find fm radio app? What? Are you trolling or do you not understand what Google In Apps search is?
Do you not see the post that I quoted? This entire thread isn't only about the FM radio...I know what google is. I'm asking what you are suggesting it to be used for? I did. I just read it again. I don't understand it the post you responded to. I didn't understand what the poster was asking. It doesn't matter. I'm not trying to be a pita. I was asking if you were suggesting a specific use for google app other than just some random search.Do you not see the post that I quoted? This entire thread isn't only about the FM radio...
