What has Verizon taken away from V20?

Because the only thing bigger that VZW is Apple lol. Remember, the iPhone was an AT&T exclusive for quite a while. If Big Red wanted to get on board they had to agree to Apple's terms or lose out on the gabillion dollars selling Apple products brought to them.
So true. I hate iOS but it was nice getting frequent updates and fixes without having to wait for the special Verizon with half of it out, test it for a month to make sure what they took out didn't break then finally release it

70 to 75 million IPhone 7&7+ sold so far world wide , estimated by Forbes as apple will not release numbers
And many believe it to have the smallest practical improvements (if any) over the previous integer release. It's kind of a dud technologically but sells anyway.

It makes one wonder if VZW doesn't disable features on certain phones, like the V20, while leaving them enabled on others, like the Pixel, in order to steer people to the latter.

I would agree but how many people would actually know before purchasing either phone which things are disabled?

Haven't listened to fm radio in years unless it just on in the background in the car. However, I do hate that Verizon does this kind of stuff. Can't wait till other carriers catch up so they either shape up or everyone leaves.
You don't like mlb nor nfl?

What I find funny is that iPhones are not touched at all by Vetizon. No bloatware, nothing removed.

Because Apple has that kind of power.

If LG balked at Verizon, Verizon wouldn't carry the V20 at all.

LG ANNOUNCES THIRD-QUARTER 2016 FINANCIAL RESULTS | LG Newsroom

LG Mobile Communications Company third-quarter revenues were KRW 2.5 trillion (USD 2.3 billion), 23 percent lower than in the same period of 2015. Lower sales of premium devices and expenses related to business structure improvement activities contributed to a quarterly operating loss of KRW 436.4 billion (USD 389.4 million). LG shipped 13.5 million smartphones in the quarter, with North America reporting a 14 percent increase in sales from the second quarter. Priorities for the final quarter of the year will include increasing sales of the new LG V20 smartphone and mass-tier K and X series and finalizing business structural improvements in the mobile division to be better prepared for the challenges ahead.

Because there is some kind of simplicity to it that some people just connect with. My friends who have them just love them... to each their own, I guess.

Smart Settings, Themes, and FM Radio. Got it. Thank you everyone for your replies. I'm so glad I got away from Big Red. I could see disabling a feature that might be confusing or cause unnecessary calls to customer support, but these are benign features that add to the experience of using the phone. Ridiculous.

Thanks again :)

Also System Tuner

Also "In Apps" search shortcut. Still trying to figure out how to get it on my phone like the other carriers.

I would like to ask VZW folks if they could please post what features that VWZ removed this time? I hate that they feel the need to do this, it's ridiculous. I'm on Tmobile but the wife is Verizon and she's very interested in the V20. I'd hate to tell her about a cool feature that's not available on their model.

Thanks in advance!

Awe just the thread i was looking for. I'm on Verizon and have the S7 at the moment. looking at getting a V20 in March.

The only thing I can think of is the FM radio capability

That would be weird to take FM radio away after they issued an update to add it on the S7. that's weird how the Galaxy phones get FM radio on Verizon when others don't. I wish i knew their reasoning.

Does the s7edge have radio now too? I might have to reconsider this purchase.

I was able to get Smart Settings by using the Quick Shortcut Maker app using the first Smart Settings listed. I set it up to open my podcasts app when connected to Bluetooth in my car and seems to work perfectly. I haven't tried any of the other Smart Settings so your mileage may vary.

The 🎧 thing works, but location based things don't work because LG's My Places app is missing.
