To me the S series took a demotion as it doesn't offer a top of the line spec phone anymore ony s22 and s22+ , if people think the s22U is S series (it is not ) that's a renamed Note series phone . I love the Fold series (my personal favorite) and see why Samsung did a little rebranding to not cut into the profits of the Fold series, if they left things the way they were with S/Note/Fold it would take longer to get more people to get on board with fold device which in my opinion they didn't want .

Well now the S series does offer a top of the line spec phone, the S22U. I think Samsung is revving up to offer different lines of the fold phones, flip, fold, and rollable. It only makes sense to rebrand the note to the top line S series. It's like Dodge ram, is rebranded to Ram now. I still think Dodge, but in reality it's a Ram truck now, same with the S22U, a lot will still think note, but I'm reality now it's a S22U.

The only thing I disagree is the S series having a high end phone the s22U is not a S series device it's rebranded name for Note series.

S21u upgrade to s22U is totally different device, doesn't have round corners and S series never house a Spen.

Someone from Note series upgrading to s22U will be getting a upgrade in camera/battery department rest is as usual from Note series.

So s22U is nowhere identical to previous S series devices that's gone , s22U is a Note device now.

The only carry over S series from s21 is s22 or s22+

And that makes the most sense. I wouldn't want an S series phone that requires a special case to store S Pen. Having S Pen in Note (aka S22 Ultra) is the only logical place for it.

It's just moved over to the S series. Call it a S22U, call it a note, call it a phone. Samsung officially calls it S22U. The fold 4 Spen is rumored to have Spen in silo, are we going to insist that's a folding note?

I asked a non forum person how they liked their new note, they looked at me strange as they see it as the S22U. The mass majority will call it what Samsung named it.
