What Pixel Improvements do you want to see in the Pixel 2?

1) IP68 rating
2) Better vibration motor
3) Slimmer bezels which leads to larger display. Start at 5.2 for reg Pixel 2 then 5.7 for the XL
4) Start at 64GB storage or at least add the option
5) Wireless charging
6) bigger battery!
7) Camera improvements like OIS, wide angle front and back
8) SD Card I know Google will never do it but I still want to see it :-)

Mostly, I just want unlocked bigness, 6" worth of bigness in the display, so I'm hoping the Taimen model, if it exists, does not end up being a tablet. No.s 3, 6 & 8, I don't care about but wouldn't grumble about as long as there's either a good pair of front-facing speakers or a U-11-quality Boomsound setup on the phone. I would also really prefer a 16/9 form factor on the display, but I'm sure Google's gonna go 18/9. I'll resent the hell out of them for it, but if I get the right size and the speakers, I'll still pony up the coin.

It'd be nice if Google made the Pixel launcher a bit more Nova-flexible and added a damn dark theme option, but now I know I sound crazy, so I'll move on.

I'm also hoping they stick to 16:9 this year. Let the app community start putting out apps that scale great on 18:9 and then move to that if we have to... but I still want a flat display too.

I agree with you 100%, but I think we are in the minority.

I meant we are in the minority for hoping they stick with "flat" glass. I put that in quotes because even the current model has slightly curved glass.

-Front facing stereo speakers. I absolutely love my Xl but the external sound pales in comparison to the last 3 HTC one phones I've had.
My pinky mutes/muffles the audio all the time when it covers up the sound port on the bottom. I consider this a legitimate design flaw.
-Get rid of the 32GB models and offer 64/128.
-I'd like to see the price point drop about $100 across the board.
-I'd like to see more official accessories, like an official type C dock, and proper magnetic car mount. something innovative and sleek that doesn't ruin the naked aesthetic of the phone (like adhering a gaudy metal ring to the back of the phone)
-Speaking of naked, I'd like a stronger side bevel/chamfer so that it has a more confident grip out of the case.

-Lastly i'd agree with less bezel real estate on the face of the phone.

- I really like the look of the 18:9 ratio screens in the G6 and S8, so I'd definitely like that with the small bezels.

- I'd love a dual speaker combo like the HTC U11 has. If they can fit that in with the 18:9 screen, that'd be great.

- I think the Pixel 2 around 5.5" and the Pixel 2 XL around 6" would be good.

- Waterproofing is pretty much mandatory now, so definitely expecting ip67 at minimum.

- Get rid of the back glass/metal hybrid. It hasn't grown on me and I think it's ugly. Go all glass or all metal, no in-between.

- Some funky colours like HTC have done with the U11 would be great.

- A screen with a higher max brightness. It's just visible outside in the sun, but I'd like brightness to be higher.

- Then of course all the usual hardware improvements, faster processor, bigger battery, better camera etc.

I would like to see it have Stereo speakers :)
I would not like it to have an all glass back
Waterproofing would be nice but not a deal breaker

same here....little more waterproofing would be nice and all glass back for wireless charging :-)

Give me (Pixel 2 XL) premium!

- Snapdragon 836 (2.5GHz Kryo 280 / 740MHz Adreno 540)
- 6GB LPDDR4X 2133MHz
- 128GB UFS v2.1 or (64GB UFS v2.1 with MicroSDXC support)
- IP68 Certified
- 6" QHD OLED always on display (LG)
- 3600+ mAh battery
- 3.5mm or (USB C 3.5mm adapter)
- Bluetooth 5.0
- Android 8.1

Comparable to Samsung Note 8

Very reasonable technology for Q4 2017

Remember 2018 technology specs will have Snapdragon 845, 8GB RAM, 256GB UFS v2.1, 4K OLED, 5G, Bluetooth 5.1, will be standard high-end phones! ......(Pixel 3 & Pixel XL 3)

My opinion.

Apart from the obvious 2017 upgrades like the Snapdragon 835, I'd like to see:

- IP67/IP68 rating because Britain is a rainy island
- OIS for the camera and a larger aperture
- a bigger battery than last year
- Bluetooth 5
- dual speakers (front facing would be a bonus)
- a little bit less bezel

For me to switch from being a very happy Samsung s8+ user, the following features are a must have on the pixel XL 2:

Large bezel-less display
Waterproofing
Improved camera
Dual front facing speakers.
Drastically improved Bluetooth

Wish granted on most of that. The one thing from this list I don't want is OIS, but only because I think if they get OIS they'll spend less on their HDR+ which for 2016 was the better solution.

Just curious, what are you hoping to see on the camera?

I disagree I’m afraid, I mean this is Google we’re talking about, they easily have the resources to include hardware OIS in addition to improving HDR+. Those aren’t mutually exclusive features and I salivate at the thought of their HDR+ algorithm being enhanced by OIS. Google said that they didn’t need OIS last year as their software tricks made them competitive anyway, which was true, but it disregards the fact that OIS would have made the original Pixel’s camera even better. There’s no such thing as a camera that’s too good! I want to see improvements to both hardware and software this year :)
